The trouble shooting quiz has me curious.

Mine is a pouch from a 2 guart bladder canteen. It's pretty big, so I've got lots of room.

In addition to the usual stuff, (Speed loads, and such) I carry a small screw driver, a small pair of pliers, and a plastic box from those "buffalo Bullets".

In the box is a small bottle of alcohol, cleaning jag, bronze brush, ball puller, Tee handle, and a patch worm. There's also room for a spare flint, too. The box is well padded with cleaning patches to keep stuff from rattling around.

I have yet to run into a situation that I can't handle with the stuff I carry. It's not near as convenient as a good range rod and a shooting box, but I can get the job done.

If I remember right

patch jag, two different jags to attach to end of ramrod, lint, dirt, leaves, a round rock just the right size for banging on top of ramrod to push a ball down a dirty barrel, two screwdrivers, one for nipple on flinter and the other? I forget, a wedge pin puller, a nipple pick and screwer for my cap lock, several maxiballs dressed in syran wrap, several pvc pipes with plastic ends on them filled with powder(aka speed loaders), several flints, (oh yea other screwdriver for putting on new flints) bag of balls, an straight line capper, bag of patches prelubed, tube of lube, priming pan flask, paper clip, twist ties, and someting else I am sure.

Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.

PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.

From memory, but not as much as I thought I might carry. 5 speed loaders, musket capper, extra musket caps, extra nipple, nipple wrench, patches, "screw" type patch and bullet puller, jag, latex glove fingers for muzzle covers.
The Leatherman is used for screwdrivers and other tools. Keep extra powder, bullets, powder measure in camp. If needed, use dishsoap and water for cleaning.
First time out with a muzzleloader this year. Didn't get anything, but great fun nonetheless!
Reloading on the fly, what a concept.

7mm, didn't add what the possibles bag was! I use a fanny pack I bought at the thrift store. I have my compass lanyard tied to a strap and then tucked in one exterior mesh pocket, my muzzleloader bag (an old Nordstrom shoe bag in a ziploc bag) in the outermost pocket and my map in the second pocket. The fanny pack is kind of big and flat and made out of heavy backpack material and works great for this purpose. I think I paid a buck for it. I can add a little extra food and my two way radio if I want, but they usually end up somewhere else.

My bag I made from a doe skin. The first deer I killed with a muzzle loader. It contains; short starter, powder measure, capper, cleaning jag, patch worm, ball puller, cleaning patches, small bottle of cleaning solvent, small bottle of oil, nipple wrench, nipple pick, patches and balls, screw driver, spare nipple, box of caps, a small sheath knife is attached to the strap. I carry my powder in a horn. My fire steel and chert are in a small bag attached to my belt along with a small horn of char and tinder.

Jeepers Creepers! How did I get all that stuff in there? When I'm hunting the loading block and the capper go around my neck and tucked into the slash pocked of my coat. The 4 in 1 speed loader goes in the coat flap pocket along with the short starter and a couple vials of powder. The rest all stay in the possibles bag which happens to be a ladies purse I picked up at Wal-Mart. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> I've often wondered what the saleswoman thought.

Muzzle loading in the dry country must be a real joy. Out here in the Pacific NW where 2" of rain a day is not uncommon we do things a bit different. In my twenty plus years of muzzle loading I have never seen a flinter out in the field. I use zip loc bags for every thing including my keeping some toilet paper dry. I carry all the usual stuff need to keep a caplock operating, everything is wrapped in pillow ticking, I use this for patches and cleaning. of course this is in a zip loc my powder is in a plastic bottle that was once a shampoo bottle this bottle is water tight and silent. These are made of soft plastic and i doubt that they can produce static like some plastic funnels are claimed to do. At least I have not blown up yet. In addition I have a dozen rounds of 22lr ammo in my bags. Helps set off a damp charge when you remove the nipple clear out the flash hole and use the powder from the 22 under your nipple. i also have a bunch of little sections of 1/8" surgical tubing to hold my caps on the nipples as small amount of grease smeared around the cap after it is placed on the nipple than pull the surgical tubing down over cap to make a water tight seal. Best make your first shot count as reloading is sometimes difficult removing that tubing and spent cap. All of this is in a fanny pack as well as my radio and compass and first aid stuff.

wink - Too bad ya gotta go thru all the hullabaloo. Don't think I could do that. Besides, I'd be all scaled and slimed over in that climate.

Don't carry a bag in the field. 3 speedloaders and a capper in on packet. A film container with some extra caps in another pocket and thats it. I like to keep it as simple as possible.
