Is this possible? Does anyone specialize in the conversion?

Darryle If the BAR is in 308 or one of the calibers on that case, send it to JES reboring in Oregon. He does excellent work at a reasonable price and the rifle will function.

Just thought of something---If it's the steel receiver BAR it can be done but the new ones are alloy receivers and I think the barrels are pressed into the receiver and even Browning doesn't try to remove those barrels. They just replace barrels and receivers when there is a problem.

It is a shorttrac 308 synthetic, and it is the alloy receiver. I have two of them in 308, one is camo, want to convert the black synthetic one

I second the JES suggestion. He does good work. He did a 375 Whelen for me from a 30-06 and did a couple of rifles for one of my friends. Good work and a fast turn around.

That would be a really sweet gun if you go ahead with it.
