BT 8897 - You have my full attention - the choice of the BRNO small ring, double square bridge model 21 action would be hard to improve upon. I like the new bottom metal as well. Put an Oberndorf style bolt handle on that hummer and I think you nailed it! For me just about the ideal custom rifle. The poster of this tread might or might not agree, and that is the joy and pain of custom guns.

I am strongly biased to Sako actions. Sako made probably the best production action you can get for a rifle. They are fit and finished to such a smooth and solid lock up many other actions need lapped to get as smooth. Here are a couple of older Sako actions, L57 and L46 in 220 Swift and 223. These actions are similar to a Model 70 in that they are locked with the safety against firing, not a trigger interrupter. There is more machining in these bolts than there is in total rifles by most manufacturers. They are a fantastic start for a great finish on a custom rifle...
