Just gets under my skin. People declaring themselves as a community's "thought leader". Oh, you're the new Plato or Aristotle,and I'm so dumb you felt the need to point it out for me.

Where do these people get off with their self aggrandizing appointment of importance?

Locally we have some guy jared who in a whining, nasal tone declares himself as our community thought leader. After all he owns a bike shop and ran for governor. What more credentials could one need to be declared our community thought leader.


I don't remember voting on that so I'm guessing he's a self appointed community thought leader.

Maybe he is on the neighborhood committee. Sounds like the type.

"Self aggrandizing appointment of importance"................ That sums it up nicely. But it's just that they are so much smarter than everyone else. But don't take my word for it. They'll tell you.

I have never had anyone describe him/herself that way. Probably a good thing.

I wouldn't be able to keep a straight face.

Today I visited a gunsmith friend, and on his shop wall I noticed a MENSA certificate. I didn't recall seeing it before, so I asked about it. He laughed and said he took the test one time just for the heck of it. I know that in our gun club there are several highly educated individuals, and the same is true of the Campfire.

What I've noticed, as a generality, is that conservatives don't talk about their education or intelligence. It's not how they define themselves. Liberals, on the other hand, talk constantly about it, whether or not there is anything noteworthy in their background. What is particularly laughable is that they take it upon themselves to "educate" the rest of us, the benighted unwashed masses, deplorables that we are.

It has been found that the leftist, democrats, liberals, communist, socialist, islamites, lesbians, gays, transgenderism, and globalist have a condition which correlates with greater activity in the anterior cingulate cortex, poor and uncontrollable emotion regulation which features a hyperactive anterior cingulate cortex.
