Caught this old girl around 14:30 this afternoon. Mind you I'm 6'3" and go 325# so she don't look that big but she was right at 8 pounds.

Caught it on a Zoom silver rainbow super fluke(soft plastic jerkbait). No I didn't put her back, I was about to and my 2 buddies convinced me to put her on the wall. This is the first fish I have kept for this purpose.

Looks like it's gonna take several months to get her back. I'll post pics when I get her back.

Hate the cap - this is Cardinal country! Could be worse I guess, could've been wearing a Chicago Cubs hat. Anyway, really nice fish, congrat's. I kept one like that years ago and had it mounted and have never kept another. Who is doing your taxidermy work? BTW, you didn't tell us if that was a farm pond, or larger lake fish?

I'm having Devin Amelunke in Fredricktown, Mo mount it for me.

I caught it at Lake Timberline, a small private lake development just north of Bonne Terre, Mo. Went back Sat afternoon and the old lady caught a 5.5 pounder 20 feet from where I caught mine.

Didn't expect Timberline lakes to have anything that size and that healthy looking in them. Figured them to get so much pressure they were about fished out. Or, so poorly managed the fish would be all head and no body. Anyway, congrat's again on the old sow, hope the mount comes out beautiful for you.
