Awesome rifle! Welcome to the forums. I’m guessing this post is from the 30-30 thread I started. At the bottom of the thread page there is a “post reply” option within the threads.

Welcome to the fire lynyrd. I have a 1950 Marlin 336SC .35 Rem with a Redfield peep sight. It has a dovetail blank where the buckhorn once resided.

My 94 has a Slow Ride sling.

I've owned something like 100 rifles in my life. Recently I sat around deciding which ones I enjoyed the most and the model 94 Winchester won out. And the only 30-30 I owned at the time was a Marlin 336. I grabbed myself a model 94 in 30-30 this past week and I feel complete again.

I can't decide what I like better, my Marlin 336 or Winchester 94. I like the Winchester better because it's a little lighter and slimmer. I like the Marlin better because it's a little more accurate and wears a scope better. The scope wasn't much of a concern when I was younger but my eyes get a lttle worse every year. I reckon I'll just keep them both.

Yep. My Marlin wears a scope but my Winchester never will. Best of both worlds. I have a trick little 2.5X Weaver on my 336.

Welcome to the 'Fire. It's a bit rocky here time to time, but a lot of good folks too. A 30-30 Marlin is a mighty fine hunting rifle. No argument from me. Guy

welcome lynyrd! don't have a 270 do you? don't admit it if you do. i have a 336 also and it has taken Moose, black bear, and deer. never needed more then one round.

Yeah everyone should have at least one 30-30 lever gun. I have a 1969 model 336 with Williams Fire Sights on board. It is all I need around here, but not all I have or use! LOL

Welcome sir! A serious hunter can use a 30-30 anywhere. Its also a fine Home Defense/Urban Defense rifle! I've seen Ranchers kill big Brahma bulls with a Mod 94! When in doubt, blow the brains out! ha

I've got an economy version 336 in 30-30. a 30AS with a birch (?) stock, no checkering, no sling studs, (until I put some on ), and as a concession to age put a 1-4x Leupold on it. I still enjoy peep sights, though, and a buddy has a 1970 vintage Win. Mod. 94 30-30 with a peep already on it that could be had for a good price and I'm very tempted. And welcome to the fire. If you have thick skin you may enjoy it.
