Very Nice rifle. I would be proud to own that one and I believe the earlier 44carbines were entirely machined from a single block of steel, the newer ones were investment cast. Shop foreman at a place I used to work at had one of those and he killed a lot of NY bucks with it .

Your not allowed to have that in Ct. I'll take a short drive and get it off you.

Beautiful. Very well taken care of. How does it shoot? A few years back, you could buy some 44 mag ammo with the 250gr partition bullet. Mine shot it just fine, better than Winchester white Box stuff. Only killing I ever did with a 44 was from a little Marlin 1894 and the Remington 240 sn.

I don't recall how it shot back then. I have a bunch of ammo he loaded for it so we'll see how that shoots.
Typical old time Ruger quality. Different from the current guns. The wood even has a little figure in it.

My father-in-law's favorite gun. Light and lays the deer down. Great for the Mississippi Woods we hunt in.

I bought one of those scopes from Kmar in 1967 for 25 dollars and still have it (having been on several different rifles). That's a nice outfit you have.

Very nice! I got one on a trade. Best trade I’ve done . I put a 1-4.5 Nikon monarch on it. Also got some 300 grainers to reload, hope it will stabilize them
All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

Nice. I have a pretty early one that does well with my handloads using either the 270 gr Speer or the 250 gr Partition. Next spring I hope to whack a bear with it here in Idaho.

That's a beautiful rifle for thumping deer at moderate ranges.

Always wanted one of those! Would be a fun little “piggin gun”.
