Can anyone give some advice for knurling bullets? Looking for general how-to. I'm wondering what kind of increase in diameter I might see by doing this. Would I be able to expand the diameter out to .504", assuming the bullet starts out at .500"?

I'd be looking at trying this with Speer Deep Curl 350 grain, Barnes XPB 325 grain, or Hornady FTX 300 grain.

Also, does anyone know the difference between the Hornady FTX and FPB? I know the FPB has the hollow base to help seal gasses. Other than that, they look to be the same bullet.

Thanks

Roll them between 2 Mill/Bastard files to create “Lift”, But you won’t get nowhere near .504 from a .500 Bullet. Knurling will ad .001, .002 at most, Knurling is best for Snugging up Fit of a Bullet that is just not Quite Tight Enough, In your Cases (.504) You need a Different Bullet to Start with.

The Hornady FPB Bullet should Work, the pack i have measure .506 at the Powder Cup, They were WAY to TIGHT for my .501 Bore, I actually Ran them Through a .500 Sizer so I could “Bore Ride” Shoot them.

Sharpsman, I actually looked at buying that tool a few years back, but at 180 bucks I decided the Mill/Bastard Files were a Much more economical way to go for the Few Bullets a Year that i need to Knurl. Corbin makes nice equipment though! I have looked into their Swaging Presses, and Accessories. Along with Walnut Hill, I would love to get Setup to Swage, But i Cringe at the amount of Money it costs to do so! shocked
