Sorry to post this, but have scoured the internet and the “mother of all EW” threads and can’t seem to find the answer. Tons on the WSM version though.

Can someone tell me the weight of a M70 extreme weather in 300 Win Mag? I know what the factory says, but those are usually not correct (and other threads in Winchester weights confirm that). If you are able to provide weights of the individual components (action with barrel and bolt, magazine box, follower, bottom metal, and the stock) that we be incredibly helpful!

Trying to determine what the weight would come out to if the stock was swapped with a McMillan Edge and the bottom metal to an aluminum one.

Thanks!

My 308 EW was exactly right compared to website specs. My McMillan Edge stock is 7 oz lighter than the factory B&C stock. The EW bottom metal is already pretty light, you won't save more than an ounce or 2 changing the bottom metal. I had PT&G aluminum bottom metal on another rifle that I sold. I swapped it to my EW before selling because I thought the PT&G looked better than factory, but the weight difference was pretty insignificant.

Most people don't really want the truth.

They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.

I own an EW in 30-06 that is maybe 2 years old, and out of the box it was spot on for weight with the Winchester specs.

Even scoped and with a full magazine, it's easy to carry.

It's official. I missed the selfie deadline so I'm Maser's sock puppet because rene and the Polish half of the fubar twins have decided that I am.

It will be roughly 8 oz less; so ~$100 per ounce of weight savings. shocked
