I loaded 30gr of CFE223 with a CCI200 primer and 170gr bullet

I was going based off the Hodgdon load data for the 30-30 with a starting load 32.2gn @ 2115fps & 30,600 PSI

Accuracy seems like it is going to be good but I spent all my rounds up getting things sighted in.

I would have thought this would have been a light load but I'm a little suspicious, the primers didn't show any major signs (like cratering) but looked flatter, it could just be my imagination after shooting so many light cast bullet loads.

I might back off 0.5gr and see what happens.

Anyone got any load data for the CFE223 in 303SAV

The case capacities of the 30-30 and 303 Savage are very close. I usually use 30-30 starting loads for 303. I wouldn’t think you would need to back down farther, but every gun is different.

I remember reading somewhere to back off about 5% from 30-30 loads for the 303SAV. That's how I started out with 30, I just rounded down a bit to a nice even number. I'll load some more up with the same load, hopefully the range is empty of others this time and I can get a chance to get things dial in.

The folks who publish data do so based on the SAAMI specs, which are for .311 bullets for some reason. So they back down 5%-10% from 30-30 loads. If you use .308 bullets, you can carefully match 30-30. I still don’t go to max loads.
