Curious to finally ask about this scope. Elk hunted with a Montana guiding family last fall and one of the sons had one of these scopes — and these guys shoot year long! — and he swore by it. Not at it; by it.
Aside from being about as heavy as a logger’s forearm and kind of “thick” looking, what is anybody here’s experience with them?
Thanks.

I saw plenty of them that had torn their mounting systems apart under recoil when I was in the business. Looked over one and it’s manual that a guy I know bought. I’m thinking something is wrong when the manual listed only caliber and weights for zeroing, IE 30/06 180gr, 7RM 160gr with no mention of velocity, BC, or even brand of bullet.
One of those, “if it sounds too good too be true” type deals. YMMV

Yeah, my impression up until last fall it was was pretty “gimmicky” — too much going on in that tube to break or not be precise enough. But he was adamant and got me thinking that it was more than the scope world’s answer to the famous Banjo Minnow.

The latest iteration works quite well and the setup involves bullet BC and all that stuff.
I do not like to recommend it to new shooters, since there is a tendency to use it as a crutch, but for people who already have developed the skills it can be very useful and the next generation should be a significant step forward in terms of optical performance among other things.

They work, and work well. If they ever get them down to a reasonable size and weight, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

Have used all the generations from the first to the latest. They keep improving: Before the Eliminator 3 the scope had to be set on 12x to work. Now the range-dots work correctly on any power. The windage correction numbers in the view also work pretty well.
I wouldn't trust the mount system on any rifle that recoiled much more than a .30-06. but have used them out to 1300 yards with good results.

I have mine on a 300 RUM with a muzzle break. It works great and has held up just fine. I have the 4-16 Eliminator III. I have only shot it out to 800 yards but it works great up to that distance. No issues at all with mine.

In for reviews! I have seen commercials and curious how this works as well. I'm caught up between the Eliminator or the new Sig BDX system
