On two occasions, I have had a coyote and a seagull snap up my golf ball and take off with it. It must be common enough that there's actually a rule of golf about it.

Our course has a lot of aggressive geese. They're worst when the chicks are out. I keep a 7-iron ready. I can report that a 3/4 swing will decapitate a charging adult Canada.
