Slavyanka is in Transcarpathia at a health resort (eastern edge of the Carpathian Mountain range). She wanted me to come with but not my idea of a holiday.

She thought mushroom season was in the fall, but found these growing outside the house where she’s rented an apt. Boletus Edulis or Penny Bun. Apparently they can be found in Canada but I can’t find a map of their range and I’ve never seen anything like this during my forays into the woods.

She’s going to bring me some dried ones home.

That would make a meal!
