During the 1980's Winchester offered a Model 70 they called the Lightweight, with a Featherweight contour barrel and a slim, classic-styled stock. This is one of those stocks for a long action, and works well for somebody who does prefer lighter-weight rifles, since it only weighs 27 ounces, not much more than many light synthetic stocks.

It's in very good shape, except for a 3-inch scratch on the right-hand side of the buttstock, which was treated with some sort of finish. I tried to show it in the second photo.

Do you know, will this work on a post-64, 30.06 in standard weight, about a '66-'69 model? If so, I am interested?

You'd have to open the barrel channel. This isn't a big deal, but your barrel won't fit in the stock's present channel.

I kind thought so, not interested, and especially not in taking away from this beautiful stock.
