While I don't take "stock" in many of these articles - this one is a good wake up call. Never forget about the power of compounding interest. Take action now....... https://www.marketwatch.com/story/t...retirees-2019-07-18?mod=mw_theo_homepage

just get a schit ton of credit cards right before you want to retire and load them up and pay minimum payments rolling them from one to the other until you drop. rob a convenience store once a year or so for vacation money. you can get away with one or two of those with little or no jail time. saving money is for suckers.

You can always sell a kidney when you think you're about halfway to the dirt nap.

My tactic: Don't retire. I've studied retirement and retired people. Seems pretty boring.

I have teachers retirement, I’ll get 80% of my best three years. We are working 60 hours a week, so that’s that’s improving my situation.

My coworker likes to point out that the homeless people under the bridge are retired. It's all in what lifestyle you want to have.

Marketwatch had an opinion piece saying that there is no retirement crisis a week ago, it's in the counterpoint of this piece. I dont know if there is or not. If you want to be rich, stop spending your money, simple as that.

Getting old is gonna suck, but it would suck a lot worse if I were broke. Glad I am on track to reach my retirement goals.

Over 40 years ago I realized that the easiest way to make money is to have money. Study up on the dynamics of compound interest and think about it. I'm glad I began saving in my late 20's and wish I'd started even sooner. After a few decades it really piles up if you keep adding to it.

Wild card in retirement planning is health and health insurance. Both seem to closer to a lottery than a rational business transaction. Irregardless, it is critically important stuff.
Imagine your grave on a windy winter night. You've been dead for 70 years. It's been 50 since a visitor last paused at your tombstone..... Now explain why you're in a pissy mood today.

The Dems think people that have IRA's and 401K's are wealthy. Do not put it past them to try to seize assets in the future.

My tactic: Don't retire. I've studied retirement and retired people. Seems pretty boring. This is my plan ,keep working but doing how much I want and with who I want. I hope it works out for me. LOL.
