I've snagged a part here and there over the past 5-6 years and finally got around to putting this 270 together. It's a SS ADL with fluted bolt, 24" bbl, tuned Walker trigger, TLW med rings, ZC 3.5-10x44, and bedded into a Manners EH6. All parts picked up here in the classifieds. I was able to get in a few groups last week and it definitely looks like it wants to shoot. The new Federal Edge TLR 136 grain looks very interesting and after preliminary test, it's definitely worth a try. R26 proved very impressive with speeds just over 3200 at 62 grains, so I'll be loading up more to try again. A .508BC at 3200fps isn't to shabby for the boring old cartridge.

Well done man! A fella could spend a whole lot more and end up with a lot less.

Any idea what the stock alone weighs?

Very nice! And if the BC on those TLRs is true, that's a heck of a load!

No kidn man, BTDT many times. It’s nice when you get into a good one for a reasonable price.

I didn’t weigh it, but it sure felt about like an Edge fill classic weight wise.

Yes Sir, I’m pretty pleased with that combo speed wise. If accuracy is repeatable I can see that combo getting bloody in the near future. I really like the bullet design. Just as an FYI 62 is right at the neck/shoulder junction, so plenty more room. Lots of folks think it’s too slow for 130-140s, but it’s not and beats most speed wise. Even beats r16 in the speed dept.

I like it. It sort of reminds me of a Hunter with a bit higher cheek and flatish forearm. The Sako/hunter type design is my favorite, so I think I’ll like this one.

Thanks. I could see it pushing a few others back in the line up. That 26/TLR combo should be wicked in most of the places I hunt.

Yes sir, I use 26 with the 130 grain TBT in my P64 270 Featherweight. Awesome shooting combo at 3150 and just puts the bullets on point as well. Tried 16 and never got any speeds like I have from 26. 17 was good though.
