They are proud of it based on the price but HECK YEAH! I can't imagine anyone in this crowd will try to talk you out of indulging in unnecessary pleasures.
Edit to add: I assume it's a Texas car so maybe the price is okay. I'm used to the rust infested cars of that era from up north that are bondo and rattle canned.

if it was a 460 i would, those cars need a big block. i'm a mopar guy but not to good for a good looking ford.

My uncle bought a new LTD from about that period (4 door) with a 428. He pulled a camper all over the country with that car.

could be. Might have been a 429. It was an early 70's model. Before he bought the LTD he was pulling the camper with a Dodge Coronet 318,...couldn't keep rear ends in it so he bought the big block LTD to pull the camper.

i know where a Holman moody 428 cobra jet is, still in the crate never been run. old guy bought in the early 70s for a car he was building to race NASCAR. he wanted 9000 about 12 yrs ago. don't know if he is still alive.
