Not really my thing, but I hope others buy plenty. I figure if the day ever came that I actually needed one, I got enough other goodies that bartering for one would be pretty easy..

MtnBoomer: I say yes!
Its been decades since I owned an AR-15 type Rifle and the only reason I bought them back then was to make a forty dollar bill on them when I re-sold them.
I am now actively seeking out a "hildabeast" proof AR-15!
Just because.

Have your ARs. I choose elsewhere.

If you don't like the 5.56, blow it out to 6mmx45 and load it with the deer slaying 95gr NBT.

Or, you could just keep it simple and load the 5.56 with the 64gr Nosler Bonded Solid Base, or, if that's too modern for you, the 60 grain Nosler Partion. It doesn't take much imagination to really enhance their performance.

Or a 6.5 Grendel.

If it's a real stuff hit the fan type scenario and I have an accurate bolt gun and ammo, wouldn't my enemy be my resupply. I like ars ok but dont have 1 at the moment. I figure extra meds and a well thought out first aid kit would better to be putting back right now.

Why buy one of those AR things that shoots little bitty bullets when you can get it done with one shot?

I would say it's time to give up those AR-15's.

Time to stop playing with peashooter toys, that would are near useless in a real fight, and build a battle rifle. Time to build a 308.

I only bought 'em because my "several" Colt 6920's were lost in that terrible boating accident.
Now is THE time to BTFD (buy the [bleep] dip) in gun prices. Reloading components, loaded ammo, hi cap mags etc.. these are the days you'll look back on and wish you'd stocked up.

Not seeing that price what did you get?

PM if you prefer.

Don't know but maybe via kits or lower+upper?

Don't have any beer, sorry. Lots of whiskey though. That zombie was splattered over 3 acres. 8 bores are just barely big enough!

some years ago, remington was trying to sell a rifle to the police market. took 20/30 round a.r. mags, kind of looked like an a.r., but was NOT semiautomatic, it was a pump. I should have bought one.
perfect answer if it get's really bad on A.R's.

Don't own one, if they are ever banned what would I do with it? Just carrying that thing on the street would make one hugely conspicuous and invite active confiscation.

I prefer the late Col. Cooper's concept of the "Brooklyn Special", a .30-30 lever action.

For the price of an AR I'd rather have two Glock 19's.

Others MMV, of course.

At the risk of being labelled a keyboard commando.
I prefer a 12 gauge pump like an Ithaca 37 with extended magazine. Call me old fashioned.

"Actually"...I just "talk" like I have guns, etc. I sold/gave them all away years ago. I'm scared of 'assault rifles" and "weapons of war". I like the "idea" of weapons, but they are just "too dangerous" to have around my family!!!!! So no ARs or AKs for me!!! smile
