I just got a 300 H&H also. Someone mentioned something about sizing the cases that I didn't follow. Anything special that I need to do? Neck sizing will give more case life. I use a Lee Collet die. 375H&H brass works fine. I neck mine down with a std RCBS FL resize die and a bit of lube.

Now that is a REAL Browning. Congratulations. SU35 , My thoughts exactly - the type of rifle that helped make the Browning name what it is . Beautiful rifle Jorge , I hope it shoots as well as it looks .

Took me thirty years at least, but finally found one...in Canada through a friend of mine. Very nice shape and hardly fired.. There was a rifle, very similar to that, for sale here at Fredericton. One hour up the road. Might be the same one.

I'm going to scope it today and sight in this weekend. Have several loads to try, but I hope I have luck with the 200gr Partitions. My other two H&Hs liked them but especially the 180TTSX (no surprise there).

I hope your new rifle likes the 200gr partitions. That was my first choice, but my rifle did like them as well as the 180gr TTSX. Combo has performed flawlessly in Africa and here in the States. I also tried 180 partitions and GMX's along with 165 GMX's.
Taking it to the range today. My son picked it as his rifle for next years SE Alaska black bear hunt. My only stipulation was that he shoot a few hundred rounds through it in preparation, and hunt with it this fall for deer and antelope.

Had a good day at the range. After crudely bore sighting at the house, first shot was a bullseye at 25 yards. Moved target to 100 using 200gr Nosler Partitions (68.5gr RL 22, CCI 250s) and I scoped it with a vintage but NIB Leupld 2.4X8X36 (my favorite scope) using Talley lightweight aluminum, one piece bases & rings. First shot @ 100 went in 1.5" high followed by two more thusly: I then shot a string using my go to load in my 300s, 71gr of RL22 and 180TTSXs and repeated with the Partitions. Once again, 300 H&Hs have a habit to shooting to POI out to 200 with both weight bullets. I'm very pleased.

Nice rifle and even better, an accurate rifle. I hope you have many happy days afield with it.
FWIW....the local Cabelas had a Remington 721 in 300 H&H with a fixed Weaver (?) for $529

One just sold on GunBroker for 1600.00 I got a pre 64 model 70 300 H&H that looks like this one in the link that sold for $2600.00. Inherited it from my dad, but never shoot it and hunt with it because it is so heavy.. Has an old weaver scope on it... This thread got me thinking I need to take it out of the safe and take it to the range... https://www.rockislandauction.com/d...el-70-bolt-action-rifle-in-300-hh-magnum
