I ran across a blurb the other day that called for cream cheese in mashed potato's so I tried it last night.

Absolute best mashed taters I've ever eaten.

I've always used the usual butter, milk, garlic, etc but it never dawned on me to use creamed cheese even though I almost always put some in my grits.

Wish one of you monkeys would have told me about this years ago.

I can honestly say I've never bought a jar of MW in my life.

That's not to say I haven't eaten some but I've never bought any.

I like the mayo idea though.....I love mayo.....I'd eat it by the spoon full if I wasn't afraid it might kill me.

Hey, now.....one time. On a bologna sandwich......and only because I thought that was how the wife made them for me.

I was wrong. It was not MW....it was love. Thats what she said any way.

Truth be told.....the MW and bologna wasn't too bad!

Try this recipe...one of my favorites and always a hit at gatherings!

Potato Puff

4-5 cups hot mashed potatoes
8 OZ creamed cheese, softened
1 egg
1/3 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped pimento
1/4 cup chopped jalapeno or peppers to your personal tastes

Mix thoroughly, place in 1 1/2 to 2 QT baking dish
Sprinkle with salt, pepper and paprika

Bake 30-45 minutes @350F
Cheese of your choice is always good towards the end of the baking process also
Parsley also makes a good presentation

Try it and thank me later!

Hi Charlie,

Yep, we often add a tub of "garlic & herb" spreadable cream cheese to our mash !!

Delicious.

Hmmm.........I would have never thought about that either. Gonna have to try it. The garlic & herb that Paul mentioned sounds like the ticket!

Cream cheese is never a bad idea.

Doesn't it go with just about everything?

I've tried that and it works. Never tried the cream cheese.

Oh, and always now use 1/2 and 1/2. Not milk. Works well.

That's good. I usually use evaporated milk. Add a little of the boil water as needed.
