Daughter has their nest back in a mesquite in their front yard. They tolerate us. 🤣

I miss those things.

Moved to SoCal in '63. Small development by todays standards of tract housing. Used to have them come down on our retaining wall to hunt lizards. Eventually they both mostly disappeared.

Then, living in the deserts of AZ I'd see them frequently enough to make it fun.

Thanks Bob, good luck with the nestlings.

PS, quail eaters too.

It’s ok Geno! We hadn’t had quail here in over 35 years!

Those pesky critters are little velociraptors aren’t they? Cleaned out all my Anole lizards.

We've had roadrunners in our yard all spring and early summer. They have hatched 2 clutches of 2 each. They have cleaned up the snakes, lizards and many bugs that were in our yard. They are fun to watch.

I like listening to the wide assortment of sounds they can make!

No its not.

Its not two tone blue with a bright orange beak.

It should be sitting on a painted target, pecking at a yellow pile, in the shade of a Free Bird Seed sign.

Sheesh.

Just how in the hell does a road runner get a hummingbird?

Hummingbirds spend a lot of time on the ground?

FTR.....we have neither hummingbirds or road runners here.....

My wife made the same comment when I showed her one in Texas the first time. grin "It looks like a skinny chicken". Ah, the joys of showing a Rhode Islander central TX. She admitted it was also the first funeral she had been too where the minister had a rifle on the gator he brought the chairs over to the cemetery on. grin

Well , they do spend a lot of time on the ground. They like to glide a lot! But they can fly too!!

Bob, you could call Blue over to help you with the RR problem..... of course, you'd have to clear out a shooting lane 700-800 yds long. He cant hit them any closer! grin
