Now that all looks great! (Cooked for the squeamish landlubber.)

Of course, our native fried seafood platters, including local oysters, is also always a smash hit...

Dang!

Your cruelty has no limits. I've not had fried oysters for years. I used to get them at a small place where the lady who cooked them called them fried sea snot. She had a knack for fixing them...never burned and always crisp and golden.

Never a huge fan of oysters, but one night some years back there was an all-you-can-eat buffet at Harrison's on Tilghman Island, MD, and they had oysters broiled on the half-shell topped with crabmeat, cheese, and bacon. Big trays of them kept appearing from the kitchen. Don't know how many I ate, but it was epic!

Hey, bro. They get these little 10 Oz jars of Pacific oysters every week or 2 at HEB for 5.98. If you get them just after they come in, with the clear water in the jar, they are great.

Hit that HEB at Burnet at times, Jesse. I dont know if they have an HEB at Marble Falls.

I've got the easy job, muchacho. All I need to do is bring Mrs. KG's grandma the main ingredient. She takes care of all the rest. Gotta' love a country girl. wink

I love fried oysters. Never ate them raw, and have no inclination to do so either. My grandmother used to make a oyster casserole at Thanksgiving every year, and I loved that.

They got a big azz HEB now in Marble. Right where old one was on FM 1431 about 3 or 4 blocks west of US 281

This thread is making my mouth water.

When I was a kid, my father and another guy leased a water blind on Kent Island, MD off the Chesapeake Bay. The blind was tucked back into a little inlet and the water was shallow. Too shallow for oyster boats to access. If we had a North, or NE wind, at low tide all of the water was gone and you could walk out on this mud flat and pick up the most beautiful choice oysters you've ever seen. Dad would always bring these heavy polyethylene bags that we use for gravel bags. If the water was low enough, we'd bring home a bushel some times.
