My two cents? You can't live very long and not believe in evolution, unless you are a complete dumbass. It's right in front of your eyes.

What makes people think they are mutally exclusive - that God (assuming It exists) did not use evolution to create (and update) the world?

Maybe not changed my mind, but I have learned things for sure. I enjoy reading discussions on things i don't know much about by smart people who know alot more than i do.

I do find it interesting... And it's made me think about things. Considering the intricacies of biology and the vastness of the universe, it's pretty deep. Mostly I have gained respect for our fellow members. Even the wrong ones. LOL

Again, to me, to not believe a Supreme Being, God, made all the wonders we witness daily is to deny God. There is no way I am going to do that. How he did it, I can not say. I can not make one speck of dust. Carry on.

The same number of points as scored by "Creationists".

Except evolutionists believe no one is keeping score.

Changed my mind any? No. But the discussion has inspired me to do some reading on some subjects I was less well acquainted with. And I always enjoy any discussion with a believer firm in his faith, especially when he can intelligently defend his position.

Exactly! I have both my faith and the physical evidence. There's no reason God couldn't or didn't use an evolutionary process for creation.

Most folks tend to forget who wrote the various books of the Bible and more importantly who the various audiences were that they were written to. Can you imagine the author of Genesis trying to explain to a bunch primitive savages who had little understanding of the world they lived in, that their origins was a long process that went through different phases over millions of years? It was much simpler and to the point to say the God created it without going into deep detail. He is God after all and He can do anything.
