I picked up a pre 64 300 H&H for a song and need to work up a load. Was wanting to use 200 grain partitions for nostalgia’s sake. Anyone have a good starting point for me. I’m hoping to get a load worked up and shoot whitetail using the irons this fall. Thanks!

That would be an awesome combo.

Nosler data says max with 200 Partition and H4831sc is 67.0 grains !
But what do they know.

Now myself I'd start by looking up 300 WSM loading data and start there. Use normal precautions like start low and work your way up. Good luck , love me a 300 H&H or two. 1950's FN Sako in 300 H&H and a Montana 1999 Custom 300 H&H.

I've got one of them myself...

My uncle gave me ten boxes of 50's - 60's vintage Norma brass that belonged to my grandfather. My grandfather died when I was in grade school, so I never knew him well, but I do remember him being an avid rifleman. The .300 H&H was one of his favorite cartridges.

A few years later, my dad stumbled across an FN Sako, simply marked ".300 Magnum." It's always nostalgic to take the classic rifle and vintage brass to the range and walk a few steps in Grandpa's old shoes, so to speak.

Exactly

That's where I started and stopped with my pre-64 M70 and 200 Partitions...
