Ethan Edwards said it best!

Put a fence around Kalifornia, and let all the LIEberals go there to enjoy their “utopia”. That’s a better option than letting them roam free, and ruin the other 49 States! -TomT

I've read that the Japanese had considered a West Coast invasion, but scrapped the idea, although the U.S. wasn't prepared militarily for such an action. Some of the top Japanese command had studied at Stanford and other U.S. colleges and knew something about America. They knew there were lots of firearms in lots of closets. They figured (correctly) they could get bogged down in a protracted guerrilla action until heavy military reinforcements could be moved out West.

Curiously, after WWII, Ike asked the military how long it would take to move an army to the Pacific Coast. The answer he got was way too long. Ike had seen the German Autobahn and it was probably the spark for our Interstate highway system. It had a military/defense function, but became a lot more than just that.

Without an armed populace, WWII may have had some different turns. And, history shows that Hitler, Pol Pot, Stalin, Mao and other butchers slaughtered UNARMED populations...

The founders saw that the First Amendment was backed up by the Second. Without the 2A, there wouldn't be a 1A, IMO. The founders understood mankind and knew history. They trusted the citizen to protect himself and his country. To disarm is to not trust the citizenry or our system of governance. The left is on that track. Hope they fail.

This is the latest exercise in name calling that some think is a substitute for reasoned debate. Since racist, sexist and/or homophobic don't apply, stoop to calling the NRA terrorists.

Defending the Constitution is not terrorism. Disagreement is not terrorism. Attempting to stifle political opposition in this way strikes at the heart of the First Amendment.

It's good to see that this is a bit much even among the normally anti-gun rights press:

Washington Post:

Good news! The NRA has sued the SF Board of Supervisors.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/nra-sues-san-francisco-domestic-terrorist-organization-gun-control

First, the accusation that the NRA is a terrorist organization is spectacularly untrue. Second, using government power to silence political opponents violates the First Amendment.

Proving libel should be a slam dunk and the courts have traditionally taken a very dim view of viewpoint discrimination. I hope the NRA gets a nice big $ judgement, although just seeing the SF Board of Supervisors get smacked down would be satisfying enough.

Massive numbers of Libs have moved into the State in my lifetime. Massive numbers of foreign born (non-white) have moved in as well. Libs have co-opted the anti-white vote and rode it successfully to supremacy. Affirmative Action helped that happen. And since Conservatives stand for family faith and country the Libs are basicaly anti-normal person values.

We see it daily in the news, Hollywood shows and reports from college campuses. Their wealth has kidnapped the Courts. They hate us. They hate themselves almost as they hate you and me. In their bitterness and self loathing they embrace anything that is against our grain. They are wrecking this Nation.

Well said by Coyote 268 and Ranger Green. I know the area you each live in very very well.

I completely disagree with the attempt from SF to pretend to exercise some delusional control over others. I would also like to remind all here on the "Fire" that we do not like or agree when some distant group, whether it be NY City, Chicago, San Fransisco etc to decide for us they know better. Just as we do not consider ourselves an evil on society because we have firearms. We should not consider all who live in California as part of the group of wacko's such as the SF Board. California is a large state with millions of conservative people. Just they are outnumbered as Illinois with the city of Chicago ruling the political arena. The northern border of Calif is as far north as the Utah/Idaho border, about the northern Illinois border. The southern border of California is over 1000 miles south. Think of Omaha NE to Natchetosis, LA. Think of the Mass/Connecticut border to Savannah GA. Think of Sioux Falls SD to Denison TX. All between those locations do not think and act the same. The problem is the millions of immigrants who have come from other cultures, political systems, etc. Then pander to them by feeding them "free" benefits in order to buy votes. There are more second generation voters in CA than almost the entire state population's of middle America. Our education system has let them down and most think we have a democracy and the majority rules. We are designed to have a representative republic.

I won't continue. Just see what the SF Board is trying to do is going to be the game plan going forward for other liberal run cities, counties etc across the US. It is just another step in the onward push to fundamentally change our system to confirm with their inept belief system. Sad but true. Born and raised in Calif. Family goes back 6 generations there. Left over 25 years ago and only go back to visit family. Was a beautiful and magical place and being turned into a 3rd world area. I haven't stepped foot in SFO since I left because I do not wish to support them in any way.

sierra hunter - We have the same problem with Austin, Dallas and Houston. Meanwhile
in far west Tx Presido County just became a Second Amendment Sanctuary.

Sierra, good summary of CA. It is a beautiful state with some wonderful, conservative people. Just not enough to control the state house. Appreciate you including Natchitoches, LA in your piece. I’m around 40 mi south of there. Very historic area, actually a few years older than New Orleans.

The lib blight (socialists/communists) is making in roads into the heartland. We laugh at the fruits and nuts in SF but those ideas seem to be growing, promoted by our sick educational complex and the MSM. Our country needs a “come to Jesus” reckoning back to sanity or we’re headed for the great abyss.

The left goes on and on about our “democracy”, which they would love it to be, in essence mob rule. We have a representative republic, if we can keep it. And whether we can or not remains in the balance. I think Trump beating Hilary and the swamp machine was a reprieve, at least for the present. I think Trump will be re-elected, but then what. I’m concerned for our country. We all need to be.
