Anyone know if they are making Natural Gear, Apex, Predator or Outfitter camo in synthetic materials? I like the synthetic shirts for my backpack hunts but can never find them in the open style patterns. Any suggestions to manufactures or suppliers would be appreciated, Thanks!

Cabelas sells their Microtex shirts in Outfitter camo. Great shirts.

Finest hunting shirts and pants going, IMHO. Just don't take them to Africa -- they don't stand up all that well to bush camp ironing grin.

Roger that!
I just examined a pair of Microtex pants at Cabelas, and unfortunately they only come in the six pocket syle. I like that style, but the leg pockets are too low to convert to zip off pants. I thought a pair of Microtex zip-offs would be pretty sweet for early fall hunting.

Cabelas and Gander Mountain used to sell camo shirts and pants made of "Worsterlon" synthetic that was a little lighter material than Microtex. It dries fast and I can't seem to wear the stuff out. If a guy could find some of that it would make great early season zip-offs.

Or you could lay an outfitter camo stencil over your legs and lay in a tanning booth.... grin

Take a look at the Sitka Gear Mountain shirt, they come in 4-5 different colors. I've got the Mountain pants and shirt coming and should be here sometime in June and I can't wait to start using them.

I just received the bass pro shops archery catalog and saw a number of their ATL shirts in the Max-4 camo, mossy oak brush and also the montana ghost camos.

I have several of the older Cabela "Worsterlon" shirts left. It is like a synthetic wool. LL Bean sells it as "NorthWeave".

Thanks guys, i will check some of these out. I have a set of the Microtex (pants and jacket) and love it, but wanted a more open pattern poly or lycra shirt for the hot weather hunting.

I hit the local bow shop the other day and bought one of the new poly shirts with the little holes in it to help it "breath". It is in the Real Tree Max 1 Open Terrain. Looks like a good pattern, fairly open with grays and sage in it. Should work well where I hunt. i will see how it holds up.

I have some of the Cabelas hunt tech shirts in Secl. 3D. They work well, but I find the open pattern camos seem to blend in better and don't blob at a distance.

I wish Apex and Predator would start making some lightweight synthetic shirts. Cotton just doesn't cut it in the backcountry, slow to dry and cold when wet.

That Sitka gear and Day one camo has some nice stuff. Too bad Christmas is so far off.....maybe fathers day? hmmmmm

The archery shop was also selling this:

Pretty neat, looks like a photo transposed on poly shirts, jackets and pants. I love my Microtex like I said, but they advertised some of their jackets as windproof and waterproof, might be nice for the backcountry.
