Last night my wife let me cook dinner. She's usually making something from a "diet" cookbook and many times it involves chicken. She knows I need MEAT on occasion. I was happy to be able to fire up the charcoal and cook something that once had hair! smile

Pretty simple stuff, grilled "local" pork chop, grilled broccoli, and mashed taters that came from my garden.

Local is in quotes because it came from the farmers market over the hill 30-40 miles away and was grown over on the other side of that valley, in or nearly in Nevada. But it didn't come from a feed lot in Kansas, Arkansas, or elsewhere.

Tasty enough and trying to help out the small family farmer.

PS, the ratty looking table is from the late '50's, my family dining table growing up. Hard Rock Maple from back east.

I'm finally getting around to making some Chicken Noodle soup using those Chicken feet I bought for the stock.

I put the stock on about seven this morning and my house is already starting to smell delicious.

This is shaping up to be a very fragrant day. smile

Sounds great, FG.

We had tikka masala and succotash. The Tikka masala was from Costco. Pretty damn good! That it was quick and easy was just a bonus.

Focaccia Pizza from our local 100yr old Italian Bakery. Great Grandparents used to buy bread there.

Slavyanka made crepes and a Ukrainian eggplant sauté on our new (to us) commercial grade gas stove. Had garlic-buttered shrimp with it.

Crepes were dessert, filled with cheese and topped with sour cream and homemade red currant jam.

Recipe maybe ?

I've been making Old Bay style steamed shrimp for so long it's become boring.

My order of gulf shrimp came in yesterday thus my request.

Thanks.

Pretty straightforward.

Thawed shrimp (ours was already peeled), butter and chopped garlic.

Heat pan on medium-high, melt butter, add garlic and toss in the shrimp. Turn them as they turn pink. Only takes 2-3 min.

If you want it more garlicky, add the garlic just before the shrimp are done.

Sorry to leave you hanging. Cat challenged. Mom tells her they're no good, dad tells her they can be cool. TBD
