I ran premium gas for years but when I bought my 02 Taco I ask one of the mechanics if that was really necessary. He told me that the majority of today's vehicles are designed to run on regular and that my money would be better spent using Major Brands so I started using Exxon, Shell, Chevron, etc. Little did I know.

I had a dumb [bleep] employee several years ago had a Ford Explorer that supposedly had a limited stock high performance motor and the only gas he could use was premium or hi test and the only place he could get the oil changed was at the ford dealer he didn’t stay employed long

I have news for a lot of y'all: The sign on a gas station only indicates who is selling it or who the station owner has a business relationship with. It is NOT necessarily who manufactured it. As to "unbranded" or "independent" gas stations, where do you think they get their gas from, Fred and Alice's refinery?

We’re just a bunch of dumb [bleep] that think it’s what the sign says...

The "Techron" part is. Otherwise, gas is gas, like alcohol is alcohol. The additives are the only thing that makes brands different. The best policy is to buy gas where they sell lots of gas.

Oh hell... Not me. As much fuel as I buy, I look for cheap! On the gasoline I use in everything around here, I do pay more for non ethanol gasoline.
