With talleys and the swfa lightweight scope these come out at 6 pds on the nose. Roughly $1500 all up for a package you would be hard pressed to build for twice the cost.

Thanks for the heads up. I've been wanting one in 7-08 but they've been hard to find in that caliber lately. 6 creed was my 2nd choice and at that price I couldn't resist. Now I just need to sell a few things to cover the credit card bill.

How about a MRC campfire edition 260 with the fluted 8 twist sporter. Kind of like an X2.

After clicking on that link yesterday I found a rifle at discount that I planned to buy. I put it in my cart while I shopped some more on the website. I went to check out and suddenly the rifle had increased by about 30%. I don't think Whitakker's would do a bait & switch but it was really weird. Guess I didn't need that rifle after all.

That stinks. There were two left after I bought one at 11:30cst. Perhaps someone else bought the last two offered while your were shopping. I do see they’re $1559 now, but out of stock.

The .243s are still on sale for $1149.

Thank you sir, but I wanted the one in 6.5X55 Swede. I guess I could call them tomorrow but I have no way of proving it. Never imaged the price would change.

If anyone sees a 18'5" 7-08 on a deal let me know. I don't have a problem running that short of barrel with a 7-08 given it's a fairly efficient cartridge. That would motivate me to pay the tax and get a muffler.

Last I talked to Barrett they said there weren't many 7-08s out there now because their current barrels in 7mm just weren't shooting up to their standard. They said they were in the process of working it out. I really appreciated that kind of candor from a gun company. It tells me they're testing their stuff before releasing it. I guess some of the earlier ones were good but maybe they switched barrel suppliers and the new one doesn't have the 7s dialed in. I think they're running Green Mtn now.

Now I need to get my 6 creed dies coming, a few more 105 hornady bthps, and some alpha brass. If the planets align I may have it deer hunting this year.

For scope I'm thinking SS 3-9 and I happen to have a new one of those on the shelf. It's a favorite of mine but given the cookie cutter eye piece I prefer them on low recoil rigs. It was slotted for my 8 twist 22-250 T3x but I think the Tikka will have to wait.

I've yet to run a 105 hornady bthp through a deer but I have used the Bergers. Given the price on the hornadys I'm going to start there this time.

Any holes in my plan? Who owns a fieldcraft 6 creed?

The 243 stainless classic I just picked up just got moved to a back burner.

Coulda had a really nice used rifle for $1,150. Be Well. Rusty Ehhhhh out of stock anyway. Check in the classifieds here and at Accurate Reloading, and Shooters Forum. You will find one soon, and for that money with optics and a bipod and sling. Man of Iron Oxide on Fastener, Slide.

Mine is an amazing little rifle that did a great job on predators last fall.

In fairness and as of an hour or so ago...only (6) 243 Fieldcrafts remain,as one is headed to my house. hint.

108 ELD flight characteristics and terminal affects, are shy of Hornie 105 HPBT's,in all (3) of my Seex Kreedmires,as well as my 270's,6 Grendels,6BR's,243's,243AI's,6-284's,Twat-Seex and the like.

Hint..................

Stick, the BTHP's shoot better than the Amax's in my 6CFC for sure, but it's nice to have options that shoot good right out of the box.

What's the plan for the 243?

20 MoMo rail,SWFA low's,6x MQ,Alpha brass,'17,200's and 105 Hornie BTHP Smooches,while waiting for Grandbaby to grow into it...amongst a few other wares.(grin)

Warming the crummy now, with ice on the windshield and the kids wanna go punish more Chrome. Might have to mix it up a smidge and do a lettle Buck Chasin' this afternoon. I gotta whistle threw a few hunnert 147's in 6.5 Twat Six,so The Kali Kid can toss the 1-8.7" Bart' 280 MTU spout aboard........................

You might want to call and ask them.

Historically, sometimes the retail store carries the sale a bit longer and if so you might get that price. Might be worth a try. REALLY tempting, but I have another project at the moment.

The 243's went back up to 1640, then went back down to 1150. Twice maybe. Driving me crazy with indecision, don't need one, but what a price. And, a 243 might be more versatile for me than others.

I bought the last 21" creedmoor and just finished putting a scope on it and loading a few rounds. I put a leupold 20 Moa rail, Warne low 30mm rings, and a SS 3-9 on it. Took the trigger down to 2.25#, it came set just over 4#.

I started loading with 108 eldms because I have 500 of them and haven't tried them in anything yet. If it doesn't work I'll go 105 bthp. The 108s kiss at 2.83 so the throat is pretty long. I'm loading some H4350 in .5g increments to find pressure. If that doesn't work I'll try Rl16, 17, 23, and maybe 26. Might also try h4831sc. I started with H4350 because I have several other guns that love it so I always have a bunch.

I'm finally going to get out and try my 8 twist t3x 22-250 too. I'm starting it with 80g eldm over H4350.

I just bought a demo in 224V the gun shop Barrett owns. They had some other demos in different calibers, that looked new other than some handling marks.

Just saw this thread...

The Barrett’s on sale were purchased at a special price. Barrett had some inventory on rifles they are no longer planning to manufacture. I think I bought 51 in total? The good news, only half shipped in the first go round. More are coming.

As to the pricing changes - the programmers were working out some kinks. Prices fluctuated for a couple days. The other potential issue - if we sell out of the rifles at the special price of $1150 and the distributor providing us a feed has some left in stock, the price on our site goes back up to reflect the distributor’s price (not our sale price).

Hope that explains it. I know we still have some 18” threaded guns on the shelf. I also know more 21” guns are coming 😀

I shot mine. A couple of rounds sighting it in and then a 3 shot group. I was in a hurry and right after my second shot some ass clown pulled up to the range jumped out and said I'm shutting the range down to go hang a target. I said hold on a minute I've got 1 shot I need to shoot. He said you can wait until I get back and started walking.

It really pissed me off. It was my first trip to the public range in 2 years. Of course the 300 yard guys started walking too and had a 15 minute meeting down range. After 25 minutes I got to shoot my 3rd shot. It looked really good, sub Moa, through the 3-9 scope but I didn't have time to wait for the next range close to go get my target.

I hate the range around hunting season. Every time a car pulls up they want to immediately go hang a target. Even if you just opened the range again as they are pulling up. It always takes 20 minutes for someone to go hang a target.

Glad I have a private range to shoot. We have rules to follow for safety and proper respect for shooters already on the line. Once someone needs to go down range it's a mutual respect thing then shooters move back off the firing line, make a safe weapon and then they can go hang a target. Good to hear your rifle shoots sub moa.

I don’t use public ranges, because of idiots like those mentioned. Try that schit with me, there will be an education coming. People act like that because people let them. Where I live, the trouble at public ranges is more safety related than utter rudeness related. You get your ass stomped for acting like that here. Just screamed at and treated like an idiot over safety.

I quit going to public ranges after I damn near had to draw down on an old man pointing a Mare’s Leg at me even after I yelled at him to point it down range. My hand was on my pistol and I was pulling it when his son grabbed him from behind and pointed both him and the gun downrange. After three successively louder commands to point the gun downrange with no evidence of cooperation from him, I was starting to think maybe he wasn’t just being stupid.

If he had rolled up and thought I was going to let him run the range, he would have been shown different. As it was, he just got cussed good and I packed up and left.

It's amazing at the amount of stupid people who point their rifle at someone and don't know it. I had to call someone out at my range. Even with rules and regulations stupid people do stupid things.

We were walking back from hanging targets one day and the guy in the lane right next to me opened fire while we were down range. I heard the bullet whiz past me. Everyone started yelling at the idiot and he argued with them that I was in a different lane at least 10 feet beside where he was shooting. Lucky for him another guy ran his ass off the range while 2 others held me back.

There's also been at least 2 times I've been down at the 200 hanging a target when someone pulls up to the range, jumps out and opens fire on the 100 which is on the same line. I've had to hide behind the 100 yard bank until they're done. They never notice my 5 or 6 rifles, rest, gear bag, and chrony sitting on the bench next to them or my truck parked there and wonder where I am. It's always a tactikool guy with an AK or AR because they don't even bother to hang a target. They just jump out of their honda civic and open fire while moving towards the line.

I should have built my new home just a bit further out of town on a bit more land so i could set up my own range.

I have a series of three different charge weights loaded and hope to get out to shoot a few more groups. I hope the first one wasn't a fluke because it did look good through the scope.

Shot the 6 creed again this morning. Tried 3 different charges of the same load. The first was 40.5g H4350, cci 250, horn brass, 108 eldm at 2.82". I fired a fouler and then a 3 shot group, all 3 were touching, looks pretty close to 1/4 Moa at 100 yds. The next was 41g and it opened up. It was two together and one an inch or so out. The next load was 41.5 g and it was about the same as 41, two together and a flyer an inch or so out.

I loaded several more of the 40.5 g loads to see if I can get it to shoot like it did this morning again. I don't know how many months it'll be before we get another windless day like today. I hope the 40.5 load was not a fluke. It only clocked 2908 fps so I'll try some other loads and powders later. I think I'm going to go ahead and hunt deer with the 40.5 load this week.

I also shot my T3x 22-250 8 twist for the first time today. I loaded 36g H4350, win brass, cci 250, and a 80g eldm at 2.63". I sighted it in with a few rounds and then shot 2 three shot groups that were both right at 1/2 Moa at 100 yds. It chonied 3058 fps and seemed pretty mild but it shot so well I came home and loaded 20 more to play with.

I also shot a 243 model 70 stainless classic I picked up. It has an old B&L 3-9 on it and I just used some 100g federal blue box factory stuff because I only have 105s loaded otherwise. It sighted right in and shot about 3/4 Moa at 100. That was with the trigger at about 7 pounds. I forgot to take the trigger down before I took it to the range but it appears to be a shooter too.

The range was much better today. Only 2 other guys there and they seemed like good guys and were easy to shoot with. They couldn't believe the 40.5 group from the fieldcraft.

Had a guy do that once to a buddy and I. Maybe 1 or 2 others on the range.

We racked our rifles, waited for him to finish.

Then we took turns shooting at the target he was using to sight in.

Funniest damn thing listening to rant and rave how he couldn't get his rifle sighted.

He finally gave up and left.

The 6CM has become my favorite predator cartridge.

The 108 ELD M kills well and doesn't destroy fur. Face on shots on wolves and coyotes have resulted in a 6mm entrance and no exit.

Are you at liberty to say which will no longer be manufactured?

I know quality guns are costly but does any one other than me buck and kick at these prices? I'm looking at custom work on a project of mine. It looks spendy but the 'smith has to make a living. Still...……...…. I like to buy used guns when I can find the features I want. Be Well, RZ.

The Fieldcraft is a bargain, for sure.....if considering NULA price and even CM Forbes prices with spotty quality control.

I was interested but came to my senses but those fieldcraft rifles are nice but not that nice. I'll stick with my Tikkas 6.5 CM rifles and 7-08's.

I'll call on the listing that has no description. I think it's a 22-250 with 7 left. If it's the 21" version, I'll have another coming my way.

243's are also on sale again.

I had one in my cart for an hour or so. Sale went thru, so I'm assuming it was still in stock. We'll see.

Just called and verified this is the 21" 22-250. They now have 6 left. He said he just got them in yesterday. Easiest path to a 1-7" 22 CM.

ETA: He updated the listing now with description.

Mine showed up, too. 6CM and 22-250. And just realized the 22-250 is a 1-8 twist. I have plenty of 75 gr amaxes to shoot, so it's perfect.

Stick you are a glutton....

Texted D today and the 6 creed is long gone so he talked me into an 18” threaded 243. Still have some brass with a L on the head stamp so I figured I’d try one out for 1150... Ultra 7 6.5 will make it a right handy pack rifle...

I've been all over central Ky. gun shops asking the see, handle a Fieldcraft. No love. Hard to buy a $1500 rifle when you don't need it & 'ya haven't even seen one. But when the reports are to the max on the positive, & the price is $1150, what 'ya gonna do??????????????????

Picked up my 6mm Fieldcraft yesterday. Quick shipment by Whittaker's.

One sweat rifle ! I've got a extra Leupold VX-Freedom 2-7x33 thats going on it to finish the hunting season.

For the future I'm going to need a scope. Would like to keep the gun nimble.

What scope inside 300 yards ? Average around 150.

Well.............................Fieldcraft .243 on the way. I'm selling off one of my Howa Alpine .243's to my Dad. I'd have picked up another 6.5 Creed Kimber limited, but I already have one. I'm a wood/blue guy, so this Fieldcraft was "justified" as I need a rifle impervious to the elements.

Midwayusa has 105 gr HPBT Hornady bullets for $101 per 500 pack and Free shipping FYI.............should be killer in the Fieldcraft .243 with Ramshot Hunter(I've got 8lbs of it).

Only 7 Left on the .243 Fieldcraft.........don't Dilly Dally

I put a Leupold VX3i 2.5-8X36 on my Fieldcraft in 270.

Now lemme see...there's (5) 8x40 holes in the receiver, what to do,what to do? Hint. Congratulations?!? Laughing!

Yard the bitch left behind and get serious. Hint.

[Linked Image from imagizer.imageshack.com]

NOW the ball is rolling. Hint.

[Linked Image from imagizer.imageshack.com]

As per "usually",the foremost fastener will need a thread or two removed,so there isn't any contact with barrel shank. Hint.

[Linked Image from imagizer.imageshack.com]
[Linked Image from imagizer.imageshack.com]

Now with full access, goop & swoop. Hint.

[Linked Image from imagizer.imageshack.com]

There's MUCH to be said, for a scope that's designed and actually DOES what a scope is supposed to do...which is to simply steer boolits. HINT. Laughing!

[Linked Image from imagizer.imageshack.com]

Flat rings and a 20MoMo extended 1913,will typically grant 25+ Mils of erector remaining, from a 200yd centerfire zero. Then as you gawk through a 6x MQ Fixed Fhuqker, you've got (10) more to use as per whim. Rest assured,Reupold has NO answer to ANY of it. Hint.

Bless your hearts for trying.

Hint.

LAUGHING!...................

As a huge Kimber 84m classic and montana fan........I'm looking forward to having the fieldcraft for comparison. 1/7 Twist .243 ain't a bad thing.....I'm stoked.

And I'm so damn tempted to get the 22-250, burn it out and rebarrel to 22 BR......

So with this fast twist .243 with longer magazine, how does it compare with a 6 Creed? A bit longer mag to take advantage of the slight increase in powder space. Assume that this 243 would be everything that a 6 Creed would be?

I looked at Whittakers just last week and there were about 16 of the kimber classics left. I had some struggles with the website that day and then tried to call the next. Gave up for a day and got busy and forgot until now and they're gone... I hate it when that happens. They were moving slow at first and then a run.

The limitations of 99% of factory 243 rifles include twist and mag constraints (2.825” or so in Rem SA). The FC benefits from suffering neither of those. Most 6 CM rifles from the factory have the twist right. And the cartridge length makes it right in every factory mag box, assuming throat is correct.

So yea. This version of 243 is perfect and will out perform the 6 CM by a smidge.

ETA: If you scroll up and check Stick’s COL measurements with 3 heavies to kiss lands, all of them are longer than a factory Rem 700 would allow. That’s the beauty of the FC SA, assuming throat geometries are identical.

'weasil,

I'd not wanna build any of the BR's,upon a 3"+ COAL magbox. Hint. Congratulations?!?

I rather LOVE my 6BR Montucky...but have multiple other BR's on 700's,in ADL and AICS DBM's,all of which I'd prefer to a Fieldcraft for same. Hint.

Just sayin'.

'Miller,

Gross COAL requisites, are factored by case length and freebore(Throat Geometry). Hint.

While I have (3) Seex Kreedmire's,only (1) wears an OEM spout(Ruger RAPR). It Smooches the 105 Hornie HPBT at 2.785" and the 108 at 2.815" COAL(different Lots). So it's not a simplistic lineal transition,to measure different case trim lengths and factor that they'll wear like Throat Geometry. On the average, there is .130" case length difference, betwixt a Virgin 243 Kreedmire and a 243Win. Taking my FC's COAL Smoochtitude and extrapolating same with the 105 Hornie HPBT for instance,I KNOW 2.830" COAL will yield a square kiss, with it's low mileage throat(throat's NEVER get "shorter"). Yanking the .130" case length difference from that COAL,yields 2.700" and take 'er to the Bank, that will be LEAPING same boolit,in an OEM Seex Kreedmire's spout. Hint.

So it's prudent,to pay heed to the big picture and weigh all in unison. So while the Kreedmire Klan is of course a superior mechanical design(simply a more capacious vessel, relative to case length),that is but one facet of the equation. Both the Seex and 264 Kreed's wear longer throats, than their 308 based cousins, which skews COAL well away from being lineal. Hint.

The Seex Kreed boasts Factory Fodder with meaningful boolits, because Factories don't have to feed age old Goat Fhuqks, like a 3"+ magbox Model 70 that's still twisted 1-10",or the Teeker 243win on an '06 receiver, twisted same. Hint.

Case capacity is like for like, between the two,but RPM,COAL and Throat Geometry are where the rubber meets the road. I'm likin' the "odds",that as things progress, boolits are only gonna get longer too.(grin)

I'd of not purchased the 243Win,had the Kreed been in stock, but having Fieldcrafted more than a smidge and dabbling both chamberings more than a little,I KNEW that a 7" Barrett in 243Win was gonna connect dots. Where Fieldcraft mechanics REALLY shine,is in 6.5 Kreed and 7-08,simply because them boolits are MUCH longer. Hint.

Just sayin'.

Burley',

I've never seen lingering "help". Hint. Congratulations?!?

Would LOVE to see another run in 7" 224 Speedmire.

Hint...............

257',

If you've the RPM,you can often overcome COAL. Thus the oft seen AICS DBM impetus and the simplistic nudge to binderless COAL latitude, less a fret for feed/function. Less the RPM,you are simply fhuqking dead in the water. hint.

Mechanically,Ronnie Rifles ring the bell like NO fhuqking others,as S/A .473's go. The L/A's are absolute Goat Fhuqks, for the very opposite reason(s).

It's HILARIOUS,just how many Manufacturers,do not begin to get it. Though of course, glass is even fhuqking funnier!

Just sayin'....................

cowlady,

Alpha,200's,17.

Kiss,find pressure and rock on.

Hint................

snow',

Good schit sells itself.........................(grin)

RL-17 I've found works better than about anything in that size case.

RL-17 is rumored to be kinda like Superformance powders. It has a slower pressure peak and really gives some great performance in certain cartridges. I load for a .250 Savage and it gives me the performance of my .257 Bob. However that's with a 26" Barrel AND a long throated chamber. I can safely get 40 grains of powder in it. It's a bolt gun built on a Howa 1500 action and a Krieger 26 inch SS Barrel. Great gun. I won't tell you the MV because you won't believe me or you'll think I'm being unsafe. But it took me 6 months to work that load up at a 10th a grain a powder at a time for the last grain and a half. That's a lot of range trips.

While I like my .22br, the .22 Creedmoor is a bunch more fun.

Shaen’s Fieldcraft conversion would be the ticket.

Lingering is one lesson I should have already learned but still learned it again. Big difference between learning 20 lessons and learning one lesson 20 times. I've done the latter again.

Should not let their website woes and phone waits bug me. It only hurts myself.

Do like I did....and get both. But if you want to shoot suppressed, get the 18". If not, definitely the 21". My long rifle is actually the 22" threaded barrel version that has the #2 contour barrel. It's not much heavier than the 21" model with the #1 barrel.

You are Clueless Fhuqking IDIOT. Hint. Congratulations?!?

If it takes longer than 90 seconds to find pressure, you are a DUMBER Fhuqk than I'm factoring and rest assured...I've got The DUMB Fhuqk Meter pegged in your "honor". Hint.

You'd be doing WELL,to "Reload" for your SuperSoaker,by putting Food Coloring in the water. Hint. LAUGHING!

Wow +P++!

Bless your heart.

'bean,

I groove on my 22BR,but not nearly as warmly or fuzzily as my 6BR's. The 224 Speedmire is simply a MONSTER and at the current Fieldcraft pricing, having The Kali Kid punch one to Speedmire...is ALOTTA rifle for the jingle. Had a pard order a couple, just for that, along with a Teeker to boot.

I LOVE the Bart' barreled Speedmire,he built me.

[Linked Image from imagizer.imageshack.com]

22BR/75 ELD,22-250 SALAMI/88 ELD,Speedmire/88ELD. NO fhuqking way would I BR a Ronnie Rifle. Hint.

[Linked Image from imagizer.imageshack.com]

Gotta go shoot THE Incredible Hulk, here in a couple and if Load Development takes more than 5 shots,I'm gonna punch myself in the dick. Laughing!

The Kali Kid nailed throat geometry and there's no way this Big Bart' Bitch won't fhuqking HAMMER.

I think the same as 257... If I was planning on dedicated suppressed for hunting I'd go with the 18'. I've had the 21" and loved it. Picked up the 22" threaded and love it more...so much so that I picked up a second...but that's personal preference on balance and I'm not hunting with it suppressed. Prone or rested it's a toss up on the 21" or 22"....for me, when shooting offhand, I'm steadier with the 22" and don't notice the 1" difference or few extra ounces when carrying it.

The FC's are just so good. The 22" #2 is my nirvana...I've had a lot of guns put together with a focus on what I like and I can't find anything I prefer to it.

Stick' and Bean' point taken, why waste the Fieldcraft platform on the little BR case? I may have to shop around for a Montucky donor in the future. Being a "small caliber" varminter mostly, the hornet case is my favorite for your reference, a 22 BR has always intrigued me.
It's hard for me to sneeze at the lil 22 Hornet in R-P brass full of Lil gun, 40gr V max, at 3075 FPS with NO interupted view through the scope at the pin drop.

'fiable,

THE Hulk is a wrap. Took (2) shots, for load development and I'd actually load (6),so I fhuqked up.(grin) Will use 'em to zero and start come-ups.

[Linked Image from imagizer.imageshack.com]

I ordered another EGW 20 MoMo rail, because it were ready to roll, directly from them. Amazon wanted to fhuqk me on "PRIME" Shipping,so I went to the source and cut to the chase.

Hint..........................

'h,

It ain't as large as it appears. It's prolly bigger.(grin)

[Linked Image from imagizer.imageshack.com]

The mass ain't hurtin' this equation and I don't see it getting cold enough,to freeze THAT ball off.

Hint..................

'weasil,

I shoot a fair sized herd of K-Hornet's and have loved the chambering since the 77/22 Sporter's intro in same. I prefer '296 in front of the 32 'Max at 3400fps+ from my 20-inchers.

My Number One so chambered, was a piece of fhuqking schit. Hint.

Nice nab on the pair of 'Crafts................

'holton,

Stability is a function of gross RPM,rotational and lineal,in conjunction. RPM bears the greatest impetus, but velocity do matter.(grin) Hint.

I've multiple SALAMI 22-250's in both 7" and 8",set up expressly for 88's. 3000fps+ is a breeze and there's no fretting stability,at low tide. Hint.

Have multiple 22-250 AI's wearing like RPM and obviously no issues there. Hint.

I've multiple Speedmires wearing like RPM and obviously no issues there. Hint.

Also shoot 88's and love 'em,in several 224 Grendel Krunchentickers. Hint.

Patiently awaiting the score of some 90gr Beer Cans to see WTF,within The Herd.

These are THE Good Old Days.

Hint...................

Thanks Stick!! Hornets rule. I've got a 77/22 K as well. A few A bolt Micros to boot in standard hornet form and a..22 Mink in an A bolt Micro and a .19 Calhoon Hornet. Browning 1885 in 22 Hornet as well...that one pumps out 40gr Vmax at 3150 with extra barrel length. I Sold off the .17 Hornets as I find the .17 WSM to be more than adequate for .17 work.......

I'm excited about the fieldcrafts...........thanks for the inspiration!

By the way, those Kimber Limited 6.5's are SWEET, eh. I've already got a black bear and Mulie Buck with mine this season.

Take care up there and don't get too wet!!

7man,

I got mine at Midway.

Stick' everyone "Knows" them little Rugers don't shoot...should a bought a Savage Abomination wink

I've got a Fancy stocked 77/17WSM in 24" form. A 22" MGM Bull contender in fiddleback maple as well. Ordered the MGM the first day after holding the Salvage Abomination at a local store.....nearly puked on the counter. I laugh as those whom never beheld the 17 WSM say it's a 200 yard round and it only gains 50 yards over the HMR.......
Anyway, good stuff with Easy 350 yard kills every spring in a field full of squeaks, been there done that. My MGM has over 5,000 rounds through it. The Winchester 15gr Lead Free is the tits.....
Nice to see you enjoying the round, its king of RF for sure.....by a longshot!
Sweet rifles too....
I'm gonna pick up a laminate 18.5" Ruger 17WSM here soon......they are threading them from the factory now

Got one left.....I snagged one for the 250 and grabbed the 1" Tubed Barrett Talley lows for the 243 while I was at it. I'm keeping the 243 Ultralight....shipping was $3.99

I must admit that I'm a little depressed now that the cheap Fieldcrafts and cheap Kimbers are gone. I think I'll call in the AM to see if they have anything else. Damn. Just damn.

Steve, where’s the best place to obtain? Gotta get a rail too.

I bought the last 2 from Midway and the last one from Graf’s. Graf’s was cheaper. Don’t know where to tell you now. Lol.

$37 from Optics Planet with free shipping.

I meant I bought the last 2 Midway had and the last one Graf's had.

Cheap 6 CM ready to rock and roll. Waiting on mounts for the cheap 22-250 and the cheap 243....and also waiting on the cheap 243 to arrive. Should be here Saturday. Cheap Kimber 6.5 CM should be here Friday!

Watching the inventory numbers fall, should I press the button or stay strong & concentrate on 4 or 5 rifles here that I have & haven't even gotten ready, much less adding another.
Five 243 's left & I was getting weak, then bam! they disappeared. Some joker bought 4 in one lick, I thanked him under my breath & felt liberated for being strong & sticking with the stuff I've got. Thinking I'd have really bad buyers remorse if I'd pulled the trigger.
That lasted about a day, & dammit! I wish I had a 243 Fieldcraft! Now, buyers remorse for not getting one. I are a rifle looney I guess.

Enjoy them guys !!

I missed the first batch of 243's and caught the 2nd batch. Too bad the dealer bought them up before members could get them. I think I got in right under the wire on all but the 22-250 - bought that one early on. Just lucky, I guess.

Dang. What’s left at a deal that’s threaded?? Wouldn’t mind a fast twist 22 -250. Have multiple 6mm’s, but could be persuaded to buy another I’m sure

Went through the list on the FC's I have. Still waiting on the 243 - should be here tomorrow. Also waiting on a few more Leupold rails. Should be here tomorrow.

1) Adjusted trigger down to 2.25 lbs on the 22-250 and 2.5 lbs on others.
2) Drilled out the excess epoxy bedding material in the pillars.
3) Disassembled bolt and cleaned and greased.
4) Degreased mount holes and mount screws and installed mount and scopes. Shortened front screw so no contact with barrel threads.
5) Degreased action screws and holes and torqued with blue loctite.

Triggers are excellent (Timneys). Bolt lift is good after cleaning and degreasing. Can't wait to zero and check accuracy. Love these rifles!

I'll trade a 18" 243 for a 18" 6mm Creed straight up.... Mine only has 20 rounds down the pipe.

Picked up the 21” 243 yesterday. Didn’t take long to notice the wavy contour on outside of barrel. Not anything like the others I have. I called and already have a return label from Devin at Barrett.

Disappointing to hear. Glad to hear on the CS, but how did it sneak past QC?

Yea....like it wasn't turned down smooth. Has about 4 ridges and valleys from the front of the forend to the muzzle. Sorta' like you had a squib and then fired another round......4 times (LOL). I didn't run a patch down the bore, but I'd bet it's okay. Just didn't turn the barrel down smooth on the exterior.

I'm positive they will either fix it or replace it. And I'm not in a hurry as I have others I can shoot.

Not sure how it could happen. Devin sounded surprised and asked me to send a pic...but there's no way to get a pic to show it. I can only feel it with my fingers and can barely see it with my eyes if I look down the outside of the barrel. But it's there and pretty pronounced.
