Picked up the 21” 243 yesterday. Didn’t take long to notice the wavy contour on outside of barrel. Not anything like the others I have. I called and already have a return label from Devin at Barrett.

Picked up the 21” 243 yesterday. Didn’t take long to notice the wavy contour on outside of barrel. Not anything like the others I have. I called and already have a return label from Devin at Barrett. Disappointing to hear. Glad to hear on the CS, but how did it sneak past QC?

I called and already have a return label from Devin at Barrett. 257, The barrel is wavy? Yea....like it wasn't turned down smooth. Has about 4 ridges and valleys from the front of the forend to the muzzle. Sorta' like you had a squib and then fired another round......4 times (LOL). I didn't run a patch down the bore, but I'd bet it's okay. Just didn't turn the barrel down smooth on the exterior. I'm positive they will either fix it or replace it. And I'm not in a hurry as I have others I can shoot.

Devin sounded surprised and asked me to send a pic...but there's no way to get a pic to show it. I can only feel it with my fingers and can barely see it with my eyes if I look down the outside of the barrel. But it's there and pretty pronounced.
