I have a nylon 66 whose home is behind the seat of an old '64 dodge farm truck. It's handy and when it gets banged a lick or two-i don't cry. Used to wear an old weaver K-4 scope. Don't want to tell the story of the K-4's "accident." Anyhow, what would you recommend for $125.00 or so. Yep, wish it was wearing a 2x7 Leupold- just can't see it though!

How about another Weaver K4?

Probably the best buy in a fixed power, I'm going to buy one as a backup scope. MtnHtr

$125 would buy one of the new 2.5x7 weaver rimfire scopes. I haven't tried one yet but they look good and are getting good reviews.

Good shooting, Weagle

I came across a Cabela's Pine Ridge in 6x40 and it turned out to be a pretty good .22 scope for about half of what you are looking to spend...

Weagle,

I have a few of the 2.5-7x Weaver RV7 scopes and I think that they are a great value! I have four (4) of the Cabela's Pine Ridge 2-7x scopes that are cheap and functional scope, but not in the class of the RV7. I've bought RV7s for as little as $75 and as much as $125, but I think that a net seach will get you into one (1) for around $100/$110 anytime that you look. A review of my scope inventory shows that I have four (4) RV7s mounted on CF rifles and one (1) on a 10/22 Walmart stainless laminated mannlicher. The CF rifles are 7.62x39, .30-30, .243, and .260. They are loners that don't get shot much, but are expected to put a projectile on target anytime that they are called upon to do so. So far, they have worked fine, but we're only talking thirty (30) or forty (40) rounds through each rifle, so I don't have a long term read on them.

Sincerely,

Bearr264, I would guess that the weavers would hold up fine on the centerfire rifles. The paralax is probably set at 50 yds though which wouldn't lend itself to the best of long range accuracy. In a hunting rifle it probably wouldn't make any difference. I have a 3x9 leupold w/ AO on my cz 452 right now, but I think I may try the weaver due to its much more trim profile.
Good shooting,

Have a simplistic answer. For a knock around 22,consider saving you money and leaving it unscoped. If it is a knock a bout,I assume pristine accuracy is not attainable nor important. Why scope?

I got a couple of the weaver RV-7 2.5 -7x28 on CZ's. I think they can't be beat for the money. They are available for around $99-. Are very compact which is important on a beater rifle as the knocks have less leverage, and have very sharp optics. I've never had to adjust it once I had mine sited in. One is on a beater CZ youth rifle that I keep in a pickup and on a tractor alot. Definately a best buy in my opinion.

Weaver R4 is a good scope too. Have one on a lever action .357 and it
works fine. But if you want the variable there is only about $20 difference.
Probably about the same scope as the K4 only smaller diameter, lighter,
and parallex is set for 50 yards.

I am surprised however that you get much use out of a scope on the Nylon 66.

The scope mounting rail being a thin piece of sheet metal, most of the time
keeping zero on those is an exercise in futitlity. Or was on the one I had.

www.swfa.com Simmons 22 mag 4x32 with rings 29.95. Just put two on 10/22s. Heck of a bargain. Also check out their sample list. S.H.O.T. show specials you won't believe.
If you still have the weaver mount and rings they would be a little stronger.
