in other words, it's not a pc topic to talk about.
just command and control. nearly 200 countries struggling to survive.
if folks chose to meet at the RoundTable, what would they talk about?
plastics in the oceans, fish prices going up, gov'ts hunkering down?
what difference will it make if brexit stays or leaves the euro-zone?
i've always loved hunting (& fishing), and now they're wanting my guns.
thanks to jaguar, we know the ISS is up there, and is doing well.

Gus, certain places - even here in the US - have been sorely overpopulated for some time and that has not brought about much furor - or even worry. Some of those places continue to get worse, and it seems to be just fine for most observers - including most of those who live in the crush. Overpopulation is a great term and talking point concept for those who have an agenda to control certain governmental and social developments - but those same folks don't lift much of a finger to deal with what is. It's a political matter - not human caring.

There are some who deny that there is a problem with overpopulation, calling for growth because the birth rate in developed nations is falling....which effects economic growth.

The concept of overpopulation of humans on earth seems to be nothing more than a myth. Here's a paper that discusses this subject somewhat tangentially. https://quillette.com/2019/05/01/how-anti-humanism-conquered-the-left/I wouldn't lose sleep over this one, Gus. Relax.

Biggest problems now are cause by the federal government being too powerful and no accountability to the people.

Mother nature is a cruel witch.
Remember why, specifically, the Bill of Rights was written...remember its purpose. It was written to limit the power of government over the individual.

Whether human caused climate change is real or imagined, the climate change alarmists miss the point. Climate change would be a SYMPTOM not the disease. Over population would be the disease. But as a previous poster pointed out, Mother Earth always has a way of leveling off populations that get too out of control, and the smart money would be betting on her rather than us to win in the long run.

In my humble opinion it is a deeply pathological mind that believes humans are a disease on the earth. That is wrong.

Humans can be dirty.
Seriously, certain humans shouldn't be reproducing.

The issue appears to be consumption rate in relation to supply: the carrying capacity of the planet. Which has nothing to do with religion, ideology or politics, just physics.
