They're definitely a game changer. Inverter in the truck with a couple batteries and you're good to go.

@jameslavish

If you work 40 hrs/wk: at 5% inflation and after 5 years, you need a 28% pay raise or to work 44 more hours (*one full extra week* per month+) to make up the difference.

This is inflation

Well Duh!

I got mine for free. It was on the side of highway where I stopped to take a few pics of a jobsite. I asked the contractor if they were missing one. He looked and said "nope." But he said "here, you'll need this" It was a battery charger. Pretty sweet deal!

F cordless tools.

They appear perfect for me.
Smaller projects, never in a shop....

I have had several generations of different tools, always pleased
with the performance, good working life.

Then the battery dies. And batteries are as expensive as a new tool.

Had a complete set of saws, drill,.. ni-cad. Great tools, obtained a few extra batteries. Life was good.

Then one day, one battery said, "let's quit" and all but one died.
At the same time.

Replaced with several lithium ions.
Same story.

I use cords now.

Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!
