I've loaded 38 special before, is loading 357 as simple as running it through the die (no adjustments from 38) and then adjusting the bullet seater die?

Depending on make of your dies. RCBS sends a .125 spacer ring with the 38/357 die sets intended to go between the die and press to compensate for the length difference between the 2. Redding also sells a set of 3 .125 spacers. Never really use them anymore as I just download 357 cases, but they do work.

I highly recommend you get a separate set of 357 dies. Over the years you will save yourself a considerable amount of frustration going back & forth with spacers. Have had my 38 spl & separate 357 dies for close to 50 years Never regretted it.
