I know a few guys have cut down 7600 stocks.

Will a 7600 recoil pad fit back on? I am going to shorten a wood stock and add a recoil pad. I don't know if it'll change the dimensions of the butt or if the recoil pad will still fit? Only shortening it a bit..maybe cutting an inch off. I have a bandsaw and comfortable making the cut...but not sure if I need a grind to fit or if any 7600 pad will screw right on?

Thanx!

The walnut 7600s come from the factory without a recoil pad so AFAIK there is no factory pad for a walnut 7600.

If there is a pad on the rifle now, it could be reused but the butt pad footprint will get smaller after the 1" loss and will require fitting. I just use Decelerators and have them fitted.

My 7600 has a buttplate. Be Well, Rusty.
