Didnt hit opener last week
Hernia surgery recovery then and still.
Easy hunt area. Bout 600 yd walk down a gravel road
Bang a right about 200 yds in sit on the head of a gentle valley spot i know
Got out this morning into this spot around 815 830 in area 2 on post
Seen 3 does 2 fawns and 1 large bodied deer for a brief glimpse
crossing the road about 150 yards in front of me when i was walking in.
Does and fawns going into a non hunting area called camp hinsch

Large bodied deer was going to soybean right down a woods road
I walked up their wanting to see his track size

Got up to the top seen 2 goobers trucks parked
That deer walked 25 yards right past one of em

So i made my way back down the road to this spot i sat on till 1130.

Lots of heavy positive sign walking into this spot
No spider webs, heavy used trails all over.
Run lines with big half fist sized schit along the rub line trail.
Tons of doe schitt everywhere
Picked up a bunch of doe schitt in a ziplock smear it on couple trees in the morning where im sitting , cover my scent a little maybe
Some acorns starting to drop.

People drive by this place thinking it is a nothing spot
They wanna go sit on the feild of dreams bean fields hoping for a gift from god

News flash

Deer are in the woodline heading for camp hinsch and old homstead foundations filled with water.
Always have always will....

But once you push in a little

Big ole gentle valley area bout 300 yards across
Tapers into a v shaped head about 200 yards in
Oaks on high ground each side
Mixed hardwood bottom
Transitions from oaks to cedars instantly at the head of the valley
Bout 250 yards other side of cedars is the soybean feild.

Gonna try and get back into area 2 in the morning well before shooting light
Im sure alot more deer went thru this place before i got in their at 830 this morning

Got part of the dog leg creek bed bout 8 ft deep to my right.
Heavy trails all around it.
Got shots out to 75 to 100 yards 360 all around me.

Directly to my front
Creek bed bout 15 to 20 yards out runs about 60 yds to left.
Was scoping out rubs on trees about 50 to 75 out in this area when different rising light angles revealed em.

Great pics. That looks like pretty open woods there. Soon be time to hang around the thickets.

Get a big one, Renne.

L and R and behind fairly open
Front gets more thick about 50 75 yards out for about 250 yards to the bean field.
All these deer i seen this morning still in a relaxed bean field summer feeding mode.
See what come thru at shooting light tommorow if i can get a slot called in at 8pm tonight.
When acorns start dropping hard in 1st week oct thru 1st week november.
The deer will say fugg beans and corn.
They will say fugg soybean in about 2-3 weeks when the leaves turn yellow brown.

Acorns and soft browse and fresh falling maple leaves are prime november doe food.

Across the road about about 250 yds behind is a place off limits called camp hinsch about 150 acres of woods.

This travel corridor to it heats up during the pre rut and rut.

Just one of many places i go on post

Was in here with slumlord 3 or 4cyrs ago iirc

I would be willing to bet very very few have been in here since.

People drive by it
Looks looks like a nothing spot to bean or corn field bubba.

Got one of them 220's , shot a doe a few years back , those accutips do the trick very well . Our bow season starts 10/05 , got the fever . Bow season and muzzleloader will be horn time , rifle season will be freezer time . Good luck , Kenneth
