Anther little shot last night. We have hay down for two weeks now, no baling today again.
How are you good folks doing rain wise?

Can't imagine you got much left.
Hoping to get our 4th cut this week sometime, just starting to bloom.

It's been a rough year for hay. All cuttings have been rained on. The regrowth gets tracked up raking, and baling, then moving the bales off.
We do have a lot of hay from a year ago.

Need some rain to make the hay grow enough for a second cutting.

We are in our fourth week with no rain. The double crop beans, planted after wheat, are hurting and yields have probably been cut between 40-50%. Up until the first of September, we'd been blessed with an almost perfect growing season, with timely and sufficient rains. Not so for the past month, plus we've had record temps, with highs in the mid to upper 90's most days.

I'm rooting for all the people who till the earth and rely on rain for their lively hood. If man could change the climate, farmers would have done it thousands of years ago.
For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat."

Wettest summer I can remember. Hay crop severely delayed. I have one meadow left to do. Out of seven meadows, two got rained on. Maybe 10% of the hay. Raining right now.

Had another .90 of rain last night here. In August, we had over 10 inches. BIL has 40 cows in my 80 acre pasture and they aren't getting it grazed off. If the rain keeps up, it will be late getting the milo cut around here again this year. BIL didn't finish milo harvest last year until December, first time it's ever been that late.

Four days of no rain in the forecast, but with dews as heavy as they are this time of year, nothing's going to dry. Going to have to gamble on laying it down a week from tomorrow and hoping it still dries before the next squall.
Stand looks really, really, good thought.

We haven't had any rain in over a month. Sudan looks bad. Will have to cut it in the next few weeks regardless in order to plant oats.

We got our small alfalfa patch cut and bailed last week while it was hot and dry, our hay shed is full.

Bailed roughly 900 4x5 bales this year on my place. Had rain all spring summer. One field got about 1/8 inch of rain on it after cutting.Have around 300 bales left to sell in a flooded market. Rain shut off about three weeks ago here in SW Missouri. Weather, go figure> GW

Younger guy behind the house could/should be getting his 3 rd cut about now. He lets it get chest high before he cuts it. Seems like it's mostly johnson grass, fennel and crap. Guess his Charolais eat it ok, they look like gray volkswagens
I think Saturdays are smoke dope and ride his Waverunner at the lake days.
