Here in the North Carolina mountains, it hasn't rained a drop in 30 days. Normally we have a high of 78 about this time of year. I am keeping my fingers crossed for our wonderful well. We had a drought a decade ago, a lot of people around here had their wells dry up. It takes all the fun out of country living when your well goes dry.

We got 1 3/4" Wed-Fri. First rain we've had, that settled the dust, since the 3rd week of July. I know that's normal for some folks, but this is Louisiana.
S7, I hope you get some rain.

26 days here no rain. Some tomorrow and a lil Wednesday maybe. Looks like the heat will break 2nd week of October.
We pray our sights be straight and our aim be true We pray for no pain to the game we pursue We thank you Lord for this land We thank you for the sights from our stands We pray for safety, one and all We pray we may return next fall

Same here in the Chattanooga area. The last rain we had at our house was the second week of July. There have been pop-up showers in some parts of the area, but mostly it is dry. Our rain totals are up for the year because it was so wet the past winter and spring. There is no rain in the long range forecast so it will stay dry for a while. And...yes it is HOT. We still swim every day and water temp is 86. Normally we close the first week of September. It looks like this year will be the middle of October.

Now you got me wondering so...…….
rain:
NOUN moisture condensed from the atmosphere that falls visibly in separate drops. "the rain had not stopped for days" · "it's pouring rain" synonyms: rainfall · precipitation · raindrops · rainwater · wet weather · the wet · a fall of rain · sprinkle · drizzle · mizzle · Scotch mist · shower · rainstorm · cloudburst · torrent · downpour · deluge · squall · thunderstorm
