and got my new hearing aides at Costco. I went through the process feeling very well taken care of...very comprehensive hearing tests. I got the Costco brand (Kirkland) which the gal told me are currently made by Phonak. They were less than half what I paid for my old pair about 8 years ago. I think they work better too. Plus, they do a lot of tricks my old ones didn't do.

My old ones were around $3000 - $3500, I don’t recall exactly. The new ones were between $1400 and $1500.

If you aren't in the VA system, Costco is a very good provider of hearing aids. Excellent audiologists, current technology aids, quite reasonable cost. Good support.

I wouldn’t either, Sam, but I’m a lot choosier about dog food than I am about hearing aids. I spend more money on it, too.

I just got my first hearing aids August 6 from Costco. They didn't mention a Costco brand but the ones I got are Preza 861 and they came with rechargeable batteries and a ReSound charger system. These are top of the line hearing aids that other sellers will charge you $6000+ for, I paid less that half that. To charge the hearing aids you just in them into the charger (the batteries aren't removable). The batteries will recharge in about 3 hours and the charge lasts 30 hours.

There is a phone app for the ReSound system that lets you control your hearing aids with your phone and to monitor the batteries. What I really like is the Resound app connects directly to your phone and you hear the phone ring and hear the caller in your hearing aids. You control these hearing aids with a little button on the back of them but the app control is much simpler. I was pretty much deaf until 40db and had moderate to profound hearing loss at frequencies above 500 Hz.

I LOVE THESE HEARING AIDS! I can hear my Grandkids again without them having to talk directly into my ear and music sounds much better. The crowded noisy room feature works great and you can enhance the voice of the person near to if you need to. They gave me some stuff to read about how old people might have problems adjusting to hearing aids because they might not be able to recognize some sounds due the brain atrophy. I didn't have any problems adjusting because I'm a young man of just 76 and I love being able to hear the sounds I haven't been able to hear in a long time. It's kind of weird to hear your own voice clearly again at first but I got used to it in just a few minutes. The good thing is I don't talk as loud as I used to.

I'm in the VA system and I need hearing aids badly which they admitted to. Yet, they won't give me any because it wasn't service connected. I'm current deaf in my right ear and only have about 50 percent in the left. So screw tie F'ing VA.

I think I'm going on 4 years with mine. No complaints. $1800 then.

Broncos are officially the worst team in the nation this year.
