Does a Remington 700 SPS .223 require a specific stock, or will it fit in any Remington SA stock? I ask because I just traded into a Remington 700 SPS .223 and do not care for the Houge stock, thinking of putting it in a laminate or better composite stock. I made the mistake years ago with a Remington 788 SA for a .222 and do not wish to repeat. Thanks in advance for your input.

A laminate would be heavier, B&C medalist is decent for the $, if you can find a take-off Rem CDL stock those are trim and handle great.
