but now I'm like ol' Fieldgrade.Redwing pecos wellingtons
I think I've always been "ol' Fieldgrade" Don.
Even when we had horses I wore the same ol' Wranglers and the low heeled round toe Roper/Wellington style for riding.........Red Wings for work.......like I said.....I weren't no cowbow.
I went to a cutting show in Central Cal last week and was the only one there in shorts and a T-shirt. My wife made me wear jeans and my chit kickers. They are literally chit kickers. Ariat boots that I do yard work and projects in during cold weather. I still wore a T-shirt though. I enjoyed the show but am not really into the dress up part. Heading to Tulsa in October and she wants me to dress the part. I think I am going to buy the biggest sombrero I can find and spring them on that.
It ain't like half of them could even saddle a horse much less get on and get western..........
Ain’t that the TRUTH!!!
I missed Don's post.
That is getting western!
I’m betting he can probably saddle one in his sleep.

Every day. Cowboy cut Wranglers, though I'm liking mwz 47's lately. Ariat and Twisted X boots. Resistol hat's, but honestly most days it is a ball cap. I own chaps and chinks, but rarely wear either one. Spurs when I ride, which is several days a week.
I would rather get a pineapple kicked up my azz than spend much time on a horse. But I spent about 2 hours this evening coming out of the hills [very steep hills] North of Riggins,Id. in a pretty lively rain and was happy to be wearing a good custom lid. Those old boys who spent their lives outdoors knew how pick a hat. I wore Wranglers to dinner after getting dried out but not in the rain.

I tell my uncle if hes gonna wear cowboy boots in public hes gotta walk 10 steps behind me so people don't think we are together. Cowboy boots in modern times are for chicks and dudes light in the loafers. My 2 cents
