I'm expecting a 99F in 250 to arrive at my FFL on Monday. I prefer not to scope a 99 while I still have some service left in these old eyes. That day will come soon enough. For now, I'd like to install either a Redfield 70LF or a Lyman 56S, but my research so far has turned up empty. So, I'm turning to the forum for some love. If anyone has either of those sights and is willing to part with one, maybe you could PM me, and we can arrange a trade for one of my organs.

Those would be my first two choices. However, barring that, I would mount a Williams FP-99 until I could locate one of the others. Problem there is, all I can find are the FP-99S, which only fits 99's with a tang safety.

Can anybody help a brother out?

I have a 57SA that I put together with a 57SA mount (lower part) and the slide/elevator from a 57WJS (if i recall correctly). The slide/elevator fits and works just fine. I've been saving it as a backup to my 43EG .250-3000 that has the Griffin & Howe mount that I had out at the PA fest. I have not put it on a rifle yet. Let me know if you can't locate what you are looking for; I can pull it out when I get back home if you are interested. I have an FP99S also (the later one that mounts in the D&T holes), but does not sound like what you are looking for.

Thanks, Keith. Good to know. I might take you up on it, if you really don't mind parting with it. PM me with a price.

As far as the FP-99S, from what I've read, the holes only fit 99's with a tang sight and not pre mils. Don't know if that is correct or not.

Tim

The FP 99 uses the rear tang screws (like a Lyman 1, 2, 29 1/2 use). The FP99S uses the standard rear D&T holes for scopes that are on all the 900k and above 99s and some of the pre-900,. Your 1959F will be D&T’d for scope mounts and also have the Two rear holes on the tang,

Thank you for the wisdom, Keith. Another nugget to store away... laugh

So, please PM me with the damages for either of the two sights that you have available.
