Lowest as in height above receiver, not cost. I have a Burris Fastfire III on it now which works fine other than being too high to get a really good cheek weld. The adapter to fit the Ruger base is at least 1/4" thick. Thanks in advance!
Good question! I'm curious also, though I quit looking.
I got rid of my first red dot reflex sight because it was so high I could barely touch my chin to the Savage .22 stock. I added a 1 1/2 inch riser which still wasn't enough and had to be removed to get the bolt out, but I hunted with it that way for one season. I recently put a Bushnell TR26 on my shotgun, a tube type red dot rather than reflex. It is lower but still higher than I prefer. I suppose the money is in the market for tacticool high mount AR stuff, but I wish that someone would build a red dot with the lowest part of the sight at the bottom below all batteries etc. and with minimal height to the attachment mechanism. Maybe they have and someone will post it here.
