Here in the NC mountains it has rained one time in the past 41 days, and that day, it didn't rain much. Just look at this weather report for today. The previous record for today was 88. And read the fine print, even hotter tomorrow. We are getting forest fires. Wells are going dry. We should have a high today, of 75 degrees. God help us I think we have entered The Twilight Zone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvSygELUEqk

I thought this would be about the South central AK drought and how it caused the nation's most expensive wildfire.

Hard to believe that we are in a drought after seven months of rain in late 2018 into 2019. 97 here today and 96 expected tomorrow. We are expecting 70 degree temps this weekend, though.

It was 96 here today, hottest day I can ever remember in October. Supposed to he hot again tomorrow, the relief is on the way.
It can't here soon enough for me.

Meanwhile in eastern Montana it has been record breaking moisture and one of the coolest summers anyone can remember. We didn't hit 100F once.
Currently light rain and 41F.

Same on the west side .. hay crop was thin because of lack of sun, wet and stormy all summer. Strange.

It's dry, but not as dry as it was in 2011.

We have 40 degrees here in N.D. But it’s supposed to get into the 50 s again. Crops sprouting standing and swathed. Been wet for weeks now. Glad I quit 3 years ago. Good luck to you in the drought area. Ed k

After last years record rain and all the problems it caused me I am not going to fuss one bit. I still have not got my slide areas fixed because my contractor is running way behind, I seriously doubt it will be fixed this year.
If my well ever goes dry then it will be the end of time for sure, it puts out many gallons a minute.
I hate it for the farmers and crop growers, just hoping some firebug don't get the idea of setting some fires. 2016 was a very devastating year, probably 30 some major fires with 60,000 or more acres burned.

Still have all of our second cutting alfalfa to swath.... We've got a magnificent third crop still standing...... just got 3.5" of rain. Four days between storms doesn't allow hay to dry this time of year with the heavy dews. Now lows of 26, and the potato guys are losing their freaking minds worrying about frozen spuds in the ground....... They'll be going 24/7 the moment they can get in the fields.

Where I live in Kentucky it has been 37 days without a drop of rain. And of those 37 days, 21 of them have been 90 degrees or higher. It was 95 today. We are hurting for rain and cooler weather too.
If we live long enough, we all have regrets. But the ones that nag at us the most are the ones in which we know we had a choice.

96 degrees today on the Chesapeake. Previous record for this date was 89 degrees. Everything looks very dry.

We had a wet spring/early summer here in E Texas and rather mild temps, rarely over 95 and I don't think we reached 100, got close. Begin August and things started drying out, maybe 1/2" in Aug -Sept combined still hot but nothing like 2011 when temps were 110-115 at times and fires everywhere and an awful number of days temps were over 100. That year our grandson was born Aug 31 over in Miss. and we delayed going over to meet him for about six weeks until some rains started, thinking if some fires started nearby we could at least get something out of the house and possibly wet it down. Could smell smoke for many days and drove through areas where brush was burning along bypass around Kilgore, Tx.
High today was about 92, about like it has been running for the last couple of weeks. Should be 75-80. Weather says a cold front is coming and Sunday will be the last day of the heat.

By the time I get back in the fields, about 8-9 days will have passed due to excess rains.. If this continues into winter, the entire house could be under snow by March..
