I’m sure Jim did. Been in his shop many times when he is building a stock from a block of wood. He does beautiful work.

OUTstanding, Jim... Smiths who can do that type of woodwork are a special breed indeed.. I cannot - don't have the skill nor the patience for that.

My wife's cousin in Havre, MT used to do stocks like that. He showed me a rifle he'd just completed (circa '99) and the stock was simply magnificent.. But then, he used to build violins for professional musicians, so the talent was definitely there..
