Been 40 days here without a drop.

from our stands
We pray for safety, one and all

We got a bit of rain during the night. The radar makes it appear that we'll be getting a bit more shortly.

Better get out the Roundup and watch that bamboo crop.

lol.

If we get enough rain to get the burn ban lifted, I'm going to pile up the remains of the bamboo patch and put the Bic lighter to it.

If I can get the area clear enough to mow, I'll just mow it into submission every day come spring.

These are localized weather patterns brought on by global warming. The worse is yet to come and in not so distant future.

our heat wave has been broken. too late for the late summer hay cutting & harvest.

no rain yet, but a chance early in the week.

the fall green salet patches have been set way back for this year.

I was down working in the farm over the weekend getting ready for deer season and flew back this am - We didn't get any rain in Williamsburg but NE into WV they got slammed. I left late enough to be to be south of most of the hard stuff but still spent 1/2 the flight in the clouds.

But got about 6 hours of mowing done so all set for the opener. It's as dry as I've ever seen it there.

Barely got a 10th here. Looks like more coming about 7:30. Hoping for at least an inch. Acorn and butternut squash need some water.

I think this is what is over KY. I lived in Breathitt County once upon a time.

Finally! We had three tenths this afternoon. Looks like more to come this evening. It is the first we’ve had in 41 days.

I'm not sure what it is, but I could hear my lawn making a sucking sound as it fell.

Big thunder and lightning here,....lights went off.

I think my Lab thought he had died,.....jumped up in the chair with me and shivered for a bit.

I lit a candle and he calmed down.

Then he freaked out again when the lights came back on.

I told him he needed to make up his mind.

We missed out on all the rain that came through yesterday afternoon, as it went north and south. But, it started raining again about 8PM and rained most of the night. Haven't been out to check the gauge, but heard on Nashville news that some places down there got 4 inches.

Just went and checked my gauge......1 1/2 inches. Wish we could have got at least twice that much, but I'm very thankful for what we did get, and there's still one little band left to come through. Another chance about Friday, so maybe the rain will start to get back to normal.

The forecast says we might get snow on Thursday down in the people zone. Almost a certainty at ski lodge altitude.

It was 28° last Thursday when I launched my kayak for my final fishing trip this year. Headed out for a round of golf this morning, likely the only chance this week. Autumn is when the snowblower replaces the kayak and golf clubs as outdoor toys.
