Good to hear you are back in action... The last four I shot this year was with my .30-06!!! Wanted to burn some ammo and they were handy!!! Best of luck...

Cooper rifle? What caliber? My favorite PD rifles are Coopers, a 223 Varminter and a 223 Classic. With 40 gr Nosler BT or Hornady V-Max at 3750 fps they do an amazing job with minimal recoil.
I am envious, it will be next spring before I have another opportunity to shoot them again.

223 Rem, my favorite cartridge - you can't argue with truckloads of dead PD's and gophers.

Drover the rifle in the pic is a Cooper 21 Classic in 17 Remington, one of a pair, the other is a 222 Mag.
Thanks for the well wishes WCH. Glad to be shooting again.
Hope you both have a good 2019 season.

Great to hear and see you're back at it. With the current fad of black polymer precision rifles, gotta love the pic of the blue steel and walnut rifle doin' its thing. Good to see a healthy population of prairie dogs, too.

Thanks all for the well wishes.
K22, I shoot the first load I actually tried in the Cooper 23.0 of 748 and 25grain V-MAX
Rusty, Thanks for the offer on the 458 but the doc says no.
I think I'm going to step up to my Martini 204 for antelope in a few weeks.

6m/mWASP: Good for you on the Varmint Safari! And I hope your eye heals completely. And, indeed, that one big Prairie Dog in front is a "whopper"! Keep up the good work. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

A 17 rimfire seems to be very popular judging by the casings I see left behind. Nice rifle and nice truck to!
I like to do my hunting BEFORE I pull the trigger! There is only one kind of dead, but there are many different kinds of wounded.

Glad the eye is improving. Looks like the 17 Rem is pretty fatal on those PDs.

I like the picture. It looks like some of the places that I shoot in eastern MT.
Gumbo hills with the coal seam showing.
