What do you guys think of making it so I can use Talley light weight rings on my 3 hole Model 7 ? Not sure if you can utilize the existing single hole in the back or have to drill and tap 2 new ones? Thoughts?

A smith can use the existing hole in the rear bridge and your provided rear Talley to drill and tap the 4th hole. I've had it done on a Remington 660 to use M7 2pc Talley LW mounts.
Now with even more aplomb

Thanks for the replies. Again, sorry for putting this in classifieds No worries. Uses the existing rear hole. You can locate the hole from the new mount. Nice center punch. Carefully drill, but it's a thru hole so easy enough. Don't freak out but it can be done with a hand drill. Tapping, slow and steady. Some folks recommend using hss taps on hard receivers so you can chip out broken taps as needed. I'd plan to have at least two on hand before starting. Only done it twice but it's not too tough. YRMV

Use the one hole and epoxy the base to the receiver. It won't go anywhere and it is easy. If you ever want to take it off, just heat the base with an iron to soften the epoxy.

That’s what I pm’d the OP. Works like a charm and doesn’t foul the virgin receiver.
