Oh, wait, I remember now. They helped the police destroy their captured and confiscated guns rather than sell them to the public. Yeah, that sucked, too.

Our local gun stores buy up police captured guns all the time for pennies on the dollar and put them in their used gun cases. I bought a really nice 1961 Colt Government Model (bone stock, and100% reliable) from a local store who got it from the police. The truck was just arriving with boxes full of police captured guns, and I saw the Government Model in the box (all loose), and made an offer right there in the parking lot. We went inside and made the sale.

Do you have any proof they actually destroyed any guns? Like typical slimy liberals, they'll often claim things that didn't happen.

I'm with you Walt. All they had to do is wholesale them out or send them back to the manufacturer. They would take a hit but nothing like just destroying them.

I wonder if they melted them, with no regard to the environment or global warming and releasing all those toxins in the air....

Less than 1% of the people on this earth are more aware of and has dealt more with "lying liberals" than "I" - but in this instance I would give credence to the liberal son of a bitch. He would have a lot to lose if the shareholders in "dick's" found out he was lying for some unknown political reason about the guns.
I wonder how they filled out all the form 4473's for the destroyed arms?

I have heard from a very unreliable source, that Dick's contacted Eric Holder, and got his input on how to destroy weapons! Don't have a Dick's Sporting goods in town and never bought anything from them. I won't buy in the future from Dick's.

I don't believe it for a second. They were most probably returned to the distributor or to the original manufacturers. 5 million is quite the hit. They're lying, hoping to get favorable press for the soccer mom crowd. Lord knows people who support the 2nd Amendment won't shop there.
If they did, there would have to be proof provided to the BATFE. Every firearm made is tracked by them, at least until it is sold to a private owner.
