Has anyone tried it, got a load to recommend, use will be on deer at extended range in the 708

Check with Beav10. I think he was just working up a load with the VLD.

I worked up a load of 49g of Big Game Powder under 140g VLD and it shot under 1/2 MOA with 2860 FPS or there about. My load book is at another home at the moment.

I settled on a faster load of 49.9 grains Big Game behind a 120grain Nosler Ballistic Tip. Accuracy was one hole, no pressure signs experienced on the 25 rounds I fired and I got 3025 FPS at the muzzle.

This round I’m confident would put hurt onto a deer sized animal out to 500-600 yards in good wind conditions with a solid cns hit.

Rifle is a custom with an Origin Big Horn action. Brux barrel at 23”. Weight all up is 7.5ls

I have data I can access tomorrow, shot great, 2800 or so muzzle velocity using Big Game. Field results on two mule deer bucks was disappointing. Two isn’t much of a sample and my expectations might have been overly high, but both bucks needed at least two shots despite broadside double lung placement.

I switched to 150 ELD-X a couple of years ago, great results. 46.2 grains Big Game, Winchester Large Rifle Magnum primers. The BC of the eldx is .574, which ain’t bad. Deer and elk.

I have used the 120 BT extensively but want a bullet with a higher BC.
Tried the 150 ELDM but my tikka doesn't like it with the powders I tried, 4350 and Varget

Max load of RL-17 or near abouts with the 140 VLD, 2900ish from my Tikka T3, 22" tube. It shot extremely well to 800 yards....

Great killer too. Great bullet. My hunting load for quite a few years.

Barnes ttsx 47.5 gr big game got me 3085 and 1/2" groups

I load for three Tikkas, eldx WLRM, and Big Game. I’ll look for my oal data.

Pharm unfortunately I can’t get big game here, I’m stuck with ADI powders.
I can get RL 17 but won’t use it due to extreme temperatures I often hunt in
